Strange as it seems, Jennie and the unknown man made an eye contact as he look back at her too, and the smile on the stranger's lips didn't go unnoticed by the lady in red.
The eye contact had gone further as they share a staring contest as they stood straight and a meter away from each other. Strangely, the guy can't just stop smiling as he stare at the gorgeous lady in front of him. A lot of people surrounds them but they we're blurred and out of the picture ever since the pretty lady entered the room.
It must've been weird but Jennie can't look away either. His tall height stood up among the crowd and it was just him in the middle. Does love at first sight works like this? She asked to herself even though she's not a fan of romance but can't help to think of it at that way.
She was pulled put out of her trance when she felt a hand pulling her. It was her mom who looks at her with a wide smile.
"I've been searching for you. Let's go, the dance is going to start." Her mom said as she cling on Jennie's arms. "Dance?"
"It's an auction so you should participate. Your dad will be more than glad if you're going to join." She stated so Jennie smiled and nodded. Her eyes again searched for him but his not there anymore.
She roamed her eyes more in the crowd but he's nowhere to be seen so Jennie turned her attention to her mom as she guide Jennie on the stage.
A few more young girls went up on the stage as the mc welcomed them warmly. She can spot her mom together with her dad who's smiling widely at her so she give her best smile too as she can feel his sincerity within those.
"We are now going to start the yearly dance auction." The crowd clapped as the mc start. "This amazing and gorgeous ladies with me in the stage will be auctioned for a dance tonight and the amount will be donated to charitable institutions. Let's start!"
Jennie can't help but to feel anxious about the bid, what if no one will bid on me? It would be such a shame especially to her father. What the host said is right, the girls in the stage is indeed amazing with their achievements as he introduced them one by one and being auctioned after.
"We have here Ms. Kim Dahyun. She's a pianist who competed internationally and graduated in a music school in Europe. Bid starts at $ 5,000."
"$ 6,000"
"$10, 000."
"Going once, going twice, $ 10, 000 from Mr. Cha! Thank you for bidding." The mc announced and then crowd clapped again.
Gosh, what if an old and pervert man bid for me? Jennie is still panicking inside as she think about the consequences. She is the last one to be bid and the girl before her is a tall and beautiful blonde.
She is Park Chaeyoung, a young heiress of one of the biggest entertainment company in South Korea. She's really pretty and talented that made Jennie nervous and fidget her fingers on her back.
"And finally just like what they says, save the best on the last." The mc started which the audience responded with a clap.
Me? The best? she asked to herself as she look at her mom who's covering her mouth with her hands and her dad, checking something on his phone. It made her more scared.
"Introducing, Jennie Kim." Jennie smiled on the crowd in front of her and breathed heavily as she spotted the man on the middle of the crowd.
It's him.
"Jennie is a medicine graduate the only daughter of Kim Jaejoong. She does music and plays piano. And if you're asking on what's amazing on this lady, well she just topped the general surgery qualifying examination with 98% corrects responses."
Jennie gasped in shock and look at her mom with teary eyes. Her mom looked at her with a proud smile and blowed a kiss on her direction while her dad smiled warmly at her. The room then was filled with congratulations not just to Jennie but also to her parents.
"Okay so the bid starts at $10 000 Dollars."
It made Jennie anxious but then stopped as she saw a lot of hands raised in the air and it includes him.
"$15 000." Jennie recognized the guy as the CEO of Jung Corporation. Too old for her liking.
"$20 000."
"$30 000."
The number is just getting higher and higher but Jennie has her eyes on the man in the middle of the crowd. He's just there looking at her straight in the eyes making her anxious.
"$35 000." It was the old guy who's rumored that sexualizes his employees. The thought of it made Jennie shiver and remove her eyes from the man who took her attention to focus on the bidding.
"$40 000." Another creepy old man.
He's not really interested to bid? Jennie looked at him as if asking him to bid for her but then shrugged it off since who is she to spent a thousand dollars just for a dance?
"$ 100 000."
Jennie gasped in shock and looked at the stranger with wide eyes. Still, he remained cool as the mc started counting but then stop as another bid was heard.
"$ 200 000." It was one of the Lee's. A young bachelor who's name is Taeyong if Jennie's not mistaken.
Who the heck spends a lot of money for a dance that will last for a minute?
