Chapter 2 - Surf boards

           It was a nice summer evening on the water. The warm sun beamed down on everyone 

exposing their tan skin and rosy cheeks. Earlier that day they decided to go surfing and that's 

what they did. Everyone sat on their boards waiting for a wave. " Dang the weather's nice but no 

waves' '. John B blurted out to release the awkward tension. "I agree", Pope responded. "I agree"

 JJ  mocked him," Stop talking like you have a degree in biology". JJ said. " dude why are 

you so annoyed right now, I literally just said 2 words, are you on your period or something?" 

Pope responded in a concerned tone. Kie gave Pope an unamused look and rolled her eyes "So 

you think you're funny huh?" Kie shot back. "Yeah, I actually do," Pope said briefly. "Oh shut up". 

Kie fired back. Pope pushed Kie off into the water, watching her face plant in the waves. JJ was 

watching what he caused to end up with Kie in the water. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw 

that Kaylani found a pretty big wave coming their way. She started paddling towards the wave to

 catch it. Once she approached it, she immediately stood up and surfed it so effortlessly. "She 

looked so angelic," JJ thought. He admired the way her hair blew in the wind, exposing her 

features. The way her skin glistened in the sun, her eyes, light green colored. At this point, 

everyone seemed to be watching her, except Kie she was still underwater because she found a 

seashell and went to grab it. Kaylani came riding down from her wave and was congratulated by

 Jb and Pope. "That was sick dude, I didn't know you could ride like that ". Jb complimented. 

"Thanks, but I'm from Hawai'i, of course, I know how to surf". Kaylani responded. "Wait, what 

island?" Pope questioned. "O'ahu". Kaylani said. "I have an aunt who lives there". Pope 

mentioned. Kaylani nods and flashes a friendly smile. Kiara comes up from the water and raises

 herself onto her board holding a seashell. "Where did you come from?" Sara asked. Kie was 

soaking wet with her hair slicked back from the water. "Pope pushed me into the water, then I 

found a cool shell". Kie said out of breath. "Did you see Kaylani catch a huge wave?" Jb asked. " 

Wait, What?" Kie was confused. "Bro it was huge, she took it like it was nothing". JJ said in an 

exciting tone. "Oh, cool". Kie was unamused. She felt like everyone was always complimenting 

Kaylani for everything she did. It was dusk now, and the sun was along the horizon. "It's getting 

a little late and there aren't any waves, should we head back?" Sara asked everyone. Everyone 

nodded and paddled back. JJ and Kaylani were behind everyone following the group. JJ 

decided to break the silence and complemented Kaylani's Surfing ability. She laughed and 

accepted it.

It was going on 7:00 p.m. and the group went out to eat dinner. While they were waiting for their
