MK POV
I tighten my grip around his waist as we glide through the air, the journey is a lot calmer this time but my heart can't seem to stop racing. I hadn't realised just how worried I was about Nod until he hugged me. After 2 whole weeks in a row of not knowing what had happened to him, it was a real relief to see him again.

Ronin is flying slightly ahead of us, his green armour glinting in the sun. He had somehow ditched his boggin disguise when I wasn't looking, Nod and I had tossed ours away before we took off.

"........MK?"

"Huh? Oh sorry, did you say something?" I asked.

Nod had turned around in the saddle and was casually leaning against the bird, his back facing forward.

"I asked if you were ok, you seemed to be pretty zoned out," he says, a slightly concerned look in his eyes.

My heart warmed at the thought of him being worried for me and I gave him a small smile. "Yeah, I'm still processing everything I guess. When I thought about coming back here I never thought it'd be under these circumstances and so its a lot to take in."

He nods in understanding and looks me in the eye, "well whatever the reason, I'm really glad you're here." A grin had spread out on his face and I couldn't help but return it, my worries temporarily evaporating.

After that he turned around in the saddle and I leaned my head against his back, my arms wrapped around his waist. It wasn't long before I drifted to sleep, at peace for the first time in two weeks.

Nod POV
A small smile tugs at my lips as I feel MK fall asleep against my back, I readjust the reins in my hands to try and make the flight a little smoother.

Ronin was still flying ahead so it was just us, I had missed being able to be together like this. I started to remember all the times we spent together when we first met, breaking into her dads house, sneaking into Wrathwood, Nimgaloo's, our first kiss.......

My heart skipped a beat at the memory, we hadn't kissed again after that due to obvious reasons but I found myself thinking about it a lot more then was considered healthy. We had hung out and talked almost every day after she left but it wasn't the same.

Shaking my head I try to focus on flying instead of the overwhelming swirl of emotions going on inside me.

This is going to be a long trip..........

It takes two hours of flying before Moonhaven comes in to sight. It stands tall and proud in the distance, a feeling of warmth and familiarity floods my chest. We were still a little ways off but...

We were home.

Ronin had slowed down a little while ago and we were now flying side by side, his face as unreadable as ever. He doesn't say anything until we're close enough to tell the different types of plants growing on the rocks.

"Somethings not right."

He dives into some trees on his left and I'm quick to follow as I catch a glimpse of the slight crease in his brow. He sets his bird down quietly as I feel MK stir behind me and motion for her to be quiet.

She rubs the sleep from her eyes but looks to Ronin, tense and alert. He gazes unblinking towards the mountain of rocks in the middle of the clearing but finally looks towards us.

"Do you hear that?" He asks.

I scrunch up my eyebrows and listen carefully. The only sounds I hear are the slight breeze and the usual gurgling of the lake. The rest is silent.

Silent!

MK's eyes widen as we come to the same realisation. Where's all the noise? The sun was only just beginning to set so Moonhaven shouldn't be this quiet unless something had happened. Maybe they'd been attacked? But we would have heard about a plan to attack if that had been the case, maybe they're in hiding?

Ronin only gives us a nod before making sure his sword is strapped securely to his waist and jumping down to the ground using the branches as stepping stones.

I do the same with my own sword and turn to MK, her jumping skills hadn't exactly been the best the last time she was here.

She had a hesitant look on her face, as if she too was remembering the last time.

"Need some help?" I whisper, my hand stretched towards her.

She looks shocked at first but then takes my hand and we jump down together, her hand warm in mine.

Ronin is waiting for us when we touch down, still holding hands. He gives us a look that I can't read and then strides forward.

"Follow me, stay quiet."

MK follows after him, releasing my hand, I stand there a moment more before going after them.

This isn't good for my heart........

MK POV
It's almost completely dark by the time we get to the centre of Moonhaven. We're walking behind the tower of rocks in the middle of the lake, Ronin said that there was a back entrance.

"Here it is"

In front of us stood a particularly large rock but that was the only interesting thing about it, it was completely plain and looked the exact same as to every other rock we passed. Apparently Nod felt the same way.

"It's a rock," he said bemusedly, a very unimpressed look on his face, "a big one."

Ronin ignored him. He turned towards it and started to feel along its smooth surface, its only now that I notice the almost invisible lines engraved onto it, all of a sudden I hear something click and then the sound of grating rock.

"No, it's the back door," an imperceptible smirk tilts the corner of his mouth as Ronin looks towards me, "Welcome back to Moonhaven."

Thanks for reading my latest chapter, I hope you enjoyed it! I've now decided that I'll try and update at least once a month because I've got school but I still want to keep posting this story so be sure to keep a look out!
