I've always been like this.. right?

Jiwan bit her lower lip as she review her past weird behaviors for the last few days since her dream. Deep down she knows the answer to her question.

In fact, all she did was act strange and feel strange since her dream. And most of the times, she only realizes that she's done something odd after she already did it.

Jiwan is hanging out with three of her girl friends from high school today. They were just done shopping and are taking a break, sipping their milk tea as they talk about a new trending Kpop group, the trending hairstyle for next year, and their new dating experiences.

Being a fairly sociable person, Jiwan has different kinds of circles. This group is meant for talking mainly about fleeting romances and boyfriend-girlfriend stuff, holywood and celebrity updates, fashionable clothes, and other surface-level conversations. Which is exactly the kind of group she needs right now that she's been growing more and more confused about things with Sol. She usually hangs out with them when she's looking to be set up for a blind date. But today, it's the last thing on her mind.

That dream.

It's kept messing a lot with my head and I need distractions.

But I'm not really in the mood to date someone new.

Besides, who knows what move that Ju Hyeok will make to get Sol to himself if I left her unattended for a while.

She's only at ease with leaving Sol because she's busy finishing a commissioned sculpture project that is due.

Speaking of which, should I check in on her right now?

Jiwan took out her cellphone but decided to pull it away. She has been zoning in and out of the conversations, only half listening.

"I don't know, I just feel like my boyfriend and I are getting near the end our relationship. You know it's about to end soon when the days together are becoming dull and you both just spend the night in love motels and that's it. "

"But that's exactly how relationships work right"

"Right. You start with fun and cheesy stuff then eventually move to the hot stuff, then the cheesy stuff decrease and it's all just hot stuff until it becomes a routine too. It'd how you know you should already start looking."

"Yeah, you're right. This was just sooner than I expected."

The topic of the conversation suddenly pulled Jiwan back to the present.

"Sometimes going casual or one night stands are so much easier."

Jiwan sipped her matcha flavored milk tea as thoughts run in her mind again.

Is it really supposed to be like that?

You start getting to know the person on the first few dates, do something fun like watching a movie or going to an amusement park, and that's how you find out if you're compatible together and when you are, you become boyfriend and girlfriend. Then you do stuff you both enjoy and this time there'll be butterflies in your stomach and it gets romantic and you do things like kiss each other until gradually the fun stuff become less and less until it stops and you're left with the romantic stuff but then you'll both find out that everything including romantic stuff when it becomes routine grow stale, it gets tiring at some point. And then one day you come with them to a coffee shop or restaurant, talk about random stuff like the news or a netflix series, and finally one of you will see find the timing to open up the conversation about where the relationship is going - nowhere - and then you both conclude that it was good while it lasted, call it quits and wish each other well. Rinse and repeat with a different lover.
