Mia

"Mia why are you accusing me of doing something illegal?" Charison asked.

"I'm not accusing you, I'm just asking if you know if Jordan was doing something illegal when I was away. I mean...you guys were a couple." I said in disgust.

She chuckled at my facial expression, "I wasn't always with Jordan, so I wouldn't know if she was doing illegal things. You knew her more than I did." She smirked.

I faked smiled at her. Charison has changed a lot, she's not trustworthy as she was in the beginning of our friendship. She was first Zariah's friend before she became my friend, but now I think she's more so Zariah's friend than my friend.

"What, you don't believe me?" She asked.

I just shrugged and looked at Zariah who was sound asleep. I tapped her gently to wake her up.

"What?" She asked with an attitude.

I rolled my eyes at her and Charison stood up. "I'll catch you guys later." She said.

I just nodded at her as she left. I looked to Zariah who was just staring out the window.

"You okay?" I asked her.

She just nodded then looked to me, "Promise you'll never leave me." She said.

"What?"

"Promise me that you'll never leave me Mia." She repeated.

"I promise I won't leave you. Where is this coming from?" I asked her as I rubbed her arm.

She just shrugged and went back to staring out the window.

A nurse made her way to our table, "Hey Zariah, it's good to see again. Mia you are needed in reception." She said.

I looked to Zariah and she just nodded her head. I stood up and followed behind the nurse.

I noticed two cops waiting in the reception area. This can't be happening right now.

"Mia Thompson?" One officer asked.

I just nodded because I already knew what's to follow. I've seen these kind of things happen in movies.

"You're under arrest for the murder of Skylar Banner. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may be held against you in the court of law. You have a right to an attorney, if you can't afford one, the state will provide you with one." He said as he cuffed me.

Tears just rolled down my face. I'm literally going to prison for something I didn't even do.

"Mia?" I heard. My heart crushed just hearing her say my name like that.

I looked to see Zariah standing next to the nurse. I just broke down crying, I didn't know what else to do.

She ran to me and hugged me tightly. The other officer tried to pull her away from me but she wasn't letting up.

"Please be strong baby girl. I'll try get my mom to get you out of there as soon as possible. I love you Mia." She said as tears rolled down her face.

"I love you too Zariah."

The officer managed to pull Zariah away from me as the other officer dragged me to the car. He violently pushed me into the car and I swear I felt my ankle dislocating

"Ouch, you stupid mother fucker!" I yelled.

He slammed the door in my face. I looked out the window to see Zariah kneeling. She placed a hand on her heart and I wanted to do the same but I couldn't. She told me that whenever she does that, it symbolises that her heart beats only for me, if mine stops hers stops too.

"I love you." I mouthed to her and she smiled.

The car pulled off and I kept my eyes on Zariah. I'm scared as hell, how can a mental facility allow cops to drag a mentally ill person to prison. Isn't there a law against that?
