"John Laurens does it yet again as he releases yet another amazing song to add to his album, 'The Good and the Bad.' Although, it has come to our attention that he is taking a small break before finishing off this album to visit his hometown. Can you believe it? The man writes for almost ten years and now he's taking a break? More on that later, but for now, enjoy his new song, Either Way!"

The song on the radio begins to play and I smile to myself in the back of the taxi cab. My manager would kill me if she knew I was taking a cab to the airport, but I didn't want to deal with the driver she always gets me. The driver nods his head to the song and I keep my hood on.

"This kid has some talent, let me tell you." He chuckles. "Ya know, I almost had the chance to meet him. My daughters were big fans of him, so I took them to his concert. It's a shame I didn't get the right tickets."

I nod and smile at him. "Well, that is a shame, isn't it." I say.

He nods. "Yeah, my girls were a bit disappointed, but they were glad they at least got to watch him perform. It was his first album, too."

"Ah, so you guys were fans from the beginning then?"

He nods again. "Oh, yeah. He's really got a way of expressing his thoughts in a way everyone wants to hear. Even an old man like me."

I smile brightly. "Well, I would have to say I'm glad you think that." I tell him.

"It's sucks he's taking a break, though. He only had one more song he needed to write for this album." He sighs. "Ah well, I hope he'll have fun visiting his hometown."

"I'm sure he will." I look out the window towards the airport we were approaching. "And who knows, maybe he's headed there to write his last song, ran out of inspiration or something in LA. It happens to the best of us."

"Yeah, you're telling me, kid." He looks at me through the rearview mirror and raises an eyebrow. "Ya know, you kinda look like him. John Laurens, I mean. The freckles, the green eyes. My oldest daughter has a poster of him in her room, and you just kind of remind me of him."

"Well, you wouldn't be the first person to say that."

I chuckle gently and start singing along to my song as he pulls up to the airport. His eyes widen slightly. "Oh my God, it is you! You're John Laurens!"

"Thank you so much for the ride, and tell your daughters I said hi." I say as I hand him $60 in cash and a couple signed CDs. I had plenty of copies because my manager thought it would be good advertising, something she never wanted me to stop doing.

He stares at me in shock as I head out of the cab and towards the airport, keeping my hood up to avoid the lurking paparazzi. I just wanted to catch my flight, and not deal with their persistence for once.

I make it through airport security without being stopped, pulling my hood down over my face to walk to my terminal. I was in LA, it wasn't uncommon to just see celebrities walking around. It was just annoying getting recognized and having to deal with a bunch of people at the same time.

I sit down in a seat in the terminal and pull out my phone, opening up my Instagram. I click add to story and smile at the camera as I hit record.

"Hey, wassup everyone? I'm sure y'all heard the news by now, but I'm headed to my hometown for a little bit. I hope you guys enjoy Either Way while I'm outta LA for a little bit, and I'll be back and better than ever before ya know it." I wink at the camera. "Catch ya later."

I end the video and post it without rewatching it, something my manager would yell at me for, but I didn't care. I prefer to post it without watching it again, that way my fans get the original thing.

I scroll a bit through Instagram and bite my lip as I click on one person's account in particular. We haven't talked in so long, I don't even know if he'll want to see me. We didn't exactly end on good terms last time we talked.

I look through his account and find an old photo of us, smiling brightly. "I'm comin' home, for real this time."

And there we have it, the book is finally up. This will be updated twice a week (probably not specific days, just whenever I feel like it). Once again, I would like to say this was started way before what happened with Anthony Ramos, and it was too late to change the story.
