Loki's Goddess

Chapter 1

The day started just like any other. You wake up in the compound and make your way down to the kitchen for breakfast with the other avengers. Being Tony's daughter and the newest avenger, who is still discovering their power, you keep to yourself as much as possible.

"Well look who decided to finally leave their cave," says Tony.

"Good morning to you, Dad," you reply.

"Well technically it's almost the afternoon but I'll let it slide. How are you feeling this morning? Ready to train some more?"

"Yeah, I guess so," you answer hesitantly. "I'm just nervous that I'll lose control again. I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me. I appreciate everyone's help, but I feel like it's being wasted on me. I don't feel strong or capable enough to be an avenger."

Tony has a surprised look on his face

He replies "I know that MY daughter did not just say she isn't strong or capable. You are by far one of the strongest women I have ever encountered in my entire life. You have been through so much and you're still standing."

Standing in the corner with his arms crossed Steve says, "you know he's right Serenity. It will take time to realize your full potential and learn to control it. But you will get there and will be the strongest avenger by far."

You smile, "good morning, Steve."

Tony kisses you on the head and grabs your hand, "come on, let's head down to the training center and start the day."

You enter the training center where everyone is sharpening their skills and weapons. You can feel the anxiety building inside of you. You can't help but think that everyone is expecting you to learn everything in a day.

You smile and your voice trembles but find the courage to say, "Good morning, everyone."

Everyone stops and all eyes are on you. You feel the blood rush to your face and your cheeks turn red. But everyone smiles and warmly welcomes you back to training. Nat and Wanda are the first ones to come to you directly.

Nat, "I can see the fear in your eyes and embarrassment on your face Serenity. Take a breath. We are all family here; you have nothing to be afraid of."

You frown and reply "that's what everyone said last time and look what happened. I almost destroyed the whole compound and everyone in it."

You can feel tears welling up in your eyes.

Wanda pulls you in for a hug

"You know that wasn't your fault. We pushed you too far when you weren't ready. Power like this takes time to control. We are here for you no matter what. Now we know to take it slowly and you know to listen to your body and when to stop."

A tear falls down your face and you smile at them.

Nat walks away to start setting up obstacles and you feel Wanda take your hand. "Listen to me Serenity. I know how scary this is. I was afraid of my powers when they first emerged. I felt like there was another person inside of me trying to escape and kill everyone in sight. It will take time, but we are here for you every step of the way. You will never be alone. I promise."

You nod and smile at her.

Bucky yells from across the room "are we gonna get started or not? Sam gets cranky if he doesn't have a mid-morning snack."

Sam walks up behind him and slaps the back of his head and replies "shut up bucky and quit trying to make her laugh."

You chuckle at both of them

"The bromance is at it again. But yes, I'm ready. Let's get this shit show started."

Nat has set up different objects of various sizes and weight. The first being a bucket with some water in it.

Tony walks up beside you, "Okay so we are gonna start slow since it's been a while. All I want you to do is move the bucket to the other side of the room without spilling any water. Sound good?"

You nod. You close your eyes and take a deep breath. The blue light from your eyes and hands starts to radiate and fill the room. You lift your hands slowly lifting the bucket from the ground and placing across the room as asked.

Tony smiles with approval. "Perfect. See that wasn't so hard, was it?"

You smile back and glance at everyone watching you and smiling.

As you prepare for the next obstacle a loud noise comes from outside the compound. Everyone takes off running outside.
