Chapter 7: Nights rest

By the time we got back I really wished it had taken longer, for some reason being around Percy was just so nice and holding her hand was just a cherry on top.

When we walked in the door Percy let go of my hand and immediately I wanted to grab her hand again but I refrained from doing so in order to not try and seem weird.

We both took off our jackets and immediately Percy ran to take out the cookies. I heard a sigh of relief come from the kitchen and I knew we were okay.

She eventually came out and it was only after getting fresh air that I realized that the whole apartment probably had the permanent scent of blue cookies. Eventually Percy came back out and into the living room, while I had been taking off my coat and setting all the food down on the coffee table she had let her hair down. It seemed to cascade down her back like a waterfall.

"Alright, you ready to start this movie!" She asked as she sat down on the couch. I nodded quickly before sitting down beside her, though leaving room between us.

I started to eat my burger and I looked over to see that she had dug in as well. She looked surprised as she took her first bite before she quickly started to eat more. I couldn't help but smile as I watched her enjoy the food. After eating about a quarter of her burger she pressed play and the movie started.

I couldn't help but get invested into the movie purely because of how much Percy seemed to love it. She would laugh and smile and sing with the movie almost as if she knew the characters personally.

Halfway through the movie I finished my food and looked over to see Percy had finished hers as well. My eyes started to get heavy and I could feel myself getting tired but I didn't want to fall asleep on Percy's couch again so I pushed myself to stay awake. Of course this didn't last long though as I felt a light push against my side. I looked over to see that Percy had fallen asleep, her head was using my shoulder as support. I didn't want to move and risk waking her up so I stayed still, this only lead to me falling asleep as well though because the warmth from Percy seemed to lull me to sleep.

I fell asleep with a small smile on my face.

The next morning I woke to a presence curled up in my side. I looked over to see Percy still curled up there, her face held a peaceful look.

I smiled down at her as the morning light seemed to only amplify her beauty. I was beginning to realize that there was a chance that I had possibly fallen for my friend here, and oddly enough, I really wasn't opposed to the idea.

I felt her stir slightly, I must have been moving by accident. I recalled last night with her saying she didn't get much sleep so I thought that if I happened to help her sleep then it was only logical to allow her to stay asleep.

I calmed my breathing and looked forwards, trying to stop myself from doing anything that might disturb the girl beside me.

After a while I felt her lift off my side and so I looked over to see her stretching.

She looked over to me and a small smile appeared on her face. "Oh, sorry about falling asleep on you there Tim. I didn't mean to it's just I got so tired-" I cut her off with a small smile.

"It's all good Percy, I promise" honestly it was more then good. I really did enjoy her presence.

"Ah okay." She quickly got up. "You wanna shower here? I possibly have some clothes left over from my friends but I can't say that they'll fit perfectly" she offered.

"No, I think I'll take off, but you know..." I decided that even if Bruce didn't know it would probably be okay. "Actually Percy, would you wanna join me to this party tonight?" I asked, secretly hoping she'd say yes cause I just know that having her there would make the event 10 times more bearable.

"You know what, sure! I'd love to go Tim" I couldn't stop the stupid grin that grew on my face.

"Great, I'll pick you up around 7:30 ish alright?" I asked.

She nodded "it's fancy right? Knowing what you told me about your dad at least."

I also nodded.

"Alright you got yourself a deal Drake, see you then!" She waved to me as she disappeared to her room, leaving me to help myself out.

Once out near the street I smiled to myself knowing that tonight might not be that bad.

"Alright you got yourself a deal, see you then!" I said as I waved to Tim as I disappeared down my hall.

I know on the outside I looked calm but on the inside I was a mess. I had just agreed to a...da-thing! with Tim and I don't even have a dress to wear! I quickly rushed into my room and waited till I heard the door close till I ran back out and locked my front door before vapor traveling to the Aphrodite cabin.

When I arrived I looked around to see a bunch of campers look at me with questioning glances before going back to whatever they were doing. I quickly spotted Piper who seemed to be looking through a book.

"Pipes!" I ran forwards and hugged her. At first she was surprised but she quickly hugged back.

"Hey Percy! What's up? How's Gotham?" She asked quickly.

"Gothams good but I need to ask you a favor. I got invited to a party tonight but I don't have anything to wear. I kinda need your help with a dress and some shoes."

At this her eyes grew wide and the cabin around us grew silent. I knew I'd made a mistake when everyone started to crowd around me, pushing dress towards me in rapid fire.

I felt my arm get grabbed and before I knew it I was outside the cabin, Piper was in front of me.

"You know how they get! How could you ask that!?" She yelled.

"I'm sorry!" I yelled back. She sighed before looking me up and down. 

 "Look I have a dress you can use but you gotta promise to get it back to me, okay? I have an event for my dad's job as well but I'm sure he won't mind if I wear something else."

I smiled and nodded. "I'll get it back to you as soon as the night is over, I promise." 

She sighed before walking back into the cabin. I was about to follow her but she poked her head out and told me in a commanding voice  "Don't you dare follow me" immediately I recognized that it was heavily laced with charmspeak. If I hadn't built an immunity to it I'm sure I wouldn't be able to follow her for the next year. 

Eventually she came back out with a short sea green dress. It had two types of fabrics, the one used for the sleeves and the collar was a see through (chiffon) material and the boddess of the dress was comprised of a velvet fabric. I couldn't help but admire the dress but immediately I regretted asking Piper because there was no way I could take such a nice dress.

"Pipes, I can't take this! Its bound to get ruined" I argued.

She rolled her eyes before shoving the dress into my arms. "Have fun at that party Percy" She smiled and waved as she walked back into her cabin. 

"But- I" I sighed before accepting my fate and vapor traveling back to my apartment. I was so not ready for this party tonight.
