𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐒 galloping over the cobblestone entrance of Cair Paravel announced the arrivals of the Seven Isles. It was a fine afternoon with a stark blue sky—which was what the weather was like most days in Narnia since the defeat of the White Witch. The servants took hold of the horses and brought them to the stables for fresh hay and some water.
The Head of the Royal family of the Seven Isles stood proudly in the blinding sun rays which lit up his tanned skin. His mean frown was accentuated by his thick, black eyebrows and his slightly receding hairline. His beard was neatly trimmed and he wore light-brown royal robes; an outfit too warm in this part of Narnia.
He, his son and his Duchess were escorted into the grand palace. Due to the warmth in Narnia, there were no rooms completely closed off from the outside world with the exception of the bedrooms and some chambers such as Caspian's studies. Arches led from the inside of the corridor to the outside gardens that surrounded the castle. The entirety of the castle was built upon beige-stoned walls and pillars which in turn were coloured in all shades of brown, red, orange, yellow, and gold. The people were right to say that Cair Paravel was the most exquisite castle in all of Narnia.
They stopped in a vast hall with rows and rows of seats. In front of a yards-tall arch stood four thrones; one for each Pevensie. The thrones had more details now than when their coronation took place over two millennia ago. Each was carved to the throne-holder's liking and was laced in a mixture of red and gold. Lucy's, for example, had the great lion on hers and dancing trees and old friends.
Footsteps echoed through the before silent hall. 'Gentlemen,' Caspian's voice arose from one of the corridors before his face was revealed. 'I am King Caspian X, pleasant to meet you. I welcome you to Cair Paravel.'
The Head eyed him suspiciously. 'I am Balthasar of the Seven Isles. I brought with me my son, Odysseus of the Seven Isles and my First Duchess, Cassiopeia of the Seven Isles,' he introduced himself and his company and motioned for Cassiopeia to come closer. 'Is there perhaps a chance that she could stroll around the castle while we discuss business?'
'Of course,' Caspian said and gestured to the guards at the door. 'They will take you to the gardens. It's beautiful this time of year.'
Cassiopeia curtsied in front of Caspian. Her black hair was pinned back in a detailed and impressive manner and yet one strand managed to fall out and in front of her face. She smiled at Caspian as she brushed the strand back behind her ear. 'Thank you,' she said and left the room as was expected of her.
Caspian sat on Susan's throne as he always did when he had to conduct business in the throne room. 'So gentlemen, to which do I owe the pleasure of speaking to you today?' He sat backwards and placed his fingertips against each other again.
