Blake knew nothing about Schofield's past, or anything about his life outside the trenches and the front lines. He was as mysterious as the world itself.

Blake and Margaret walked again, passing a backyard of cherry trees. Blake commented on his brother and all the types of cherry trees he knew. He seemed to remember the past when he talked about his family and that was beautiful in Margaret's eyes.

There was a door to the exit from the cherry tree yard. Schofield and Blake looked around the corner and saw some sort of house/farm. It looked abandoned for a long time, as it was in poor condition.

– Is it abandoned? – Blake asked.

– I hope so. – Schofield replied ready to approach. – Miss... I mean, Margaret! Stay behind Blake.

Margaret nodded and smiled funny as she realized how Schofield had gotten confused.

They walked quickly to the house, weapons in hand, fully aware of any sudden movements. Schofield entered the house when he was close enough and Blake and Margaret circled the place in search of imminent danger.

Hopefully, they found nothing.

That house certainly belonged to a family, since Schofield had found an old doll lying on the dirt floor of the place.

– Anything? – Blake asked from outside.

– Nothing. – William replied.

Margaret and Blake entered the house shortly thereafter. Blake's eyes gleamed, hoping Schofield had found food.

– Did you find any food? – The youngest asked.

– No...

– Are you hungry? The lieutenant gave me some canned foods. We can share. – Margaret suggested already taking her backpack to get the food, but she was stopped by Schofield's hand in hers.

– It is not necessary. The lieutenant gave it to you. – He said and Blake nodded.

It was like that girl was a priority, and maybe she was.

– I'm not hungry, guys. We are a team, we need to help each other. You helped me there at the shelter, now it's my turn to give back.

Margaret didn't hear what Schofield was saying and grabbed a can of beans. She opened it with a knife and held it out to Blake. He looked at Schofield as if he asked permission and the other shrugged.

– Thank you, Maggie. You are a gift! – Blake said excited, he was hungry.

– You welcome. – She replied smiling.

The youngest sat on the floor of the house and began to eat his meal quickly, not caring if he was out of spoon or cold.

– I don't like this place. – Schofield admitted leaving the house being followed by Margaret.

Both of them realized that this was a house/farm. There was a well, a destroyed barn and many tools. They were sure it was a farm when they found a single live cow, among a few dead ones.
