Snoe

Episode 6

They follow the guy in the black suit into the submarine hatch, where there is a small room with a ladder that goes down.

Guy in the black suit: "My name is Don, I'm your escort. I will be showing you the way to your cabin. I will also show you who to avoid, if you don't want to get into trouble with your co-workers. When we go down this ladder, do not do anything that would provoke the people you see, it is okay to look at them, though"

Don leads the way onto the ladder. As they go down the ladder, they pass up two rooms with the door closed and nine rooms with the doors open and people inside. Each room has a 3x3 ft area outside the room, next to the ladder, to stand on. Snoe looks in the rooms and almost everyone she sees looks strong and mean. Snoe worries she will have to be careful when she moves around the submarine. They arrive at room 12.

Don: "This is your room. You will not go in yet, I'm just letting you know since we are passing by it. Here is your room key for when you enter later"

Don hands the room key to Snoe.

Don: "Right now, I'm taking you to the cafeteria. Chris said you haven't eaten in a day, so it's time to eat"

They continue down the ladder, passing up eight other rooms, most of which were closed, until they reach the bottom. At the bottom, there is a door to the cafeteria. They walk through and enter the cafe. It is large and there are hundreds of people in it. People are talking and it looks like mostly everyone is having a good time.

Don: "Don't worry about avoiding any meat that might be put on your tray, we only serve non-meat food here. Anybody who wants to eat meat can, but they aren't allowed to eat it in the cafeteria. That's the reason you saw some people in there rooms near the top of the ladder. It's also closer to the exit, so it's more convenient to go in and out the submarine. Anyway, on the right of the room there is a line. Get in the back of the line and just do what the person in front of you does if you get confused or don't know what to do. That will be all I'm telling you for now. If you need me, my room number is 23"

Don walks away. Snoe, Chris, and Rick get in line.

Snoe: "Do you have a room here, Chris?"

Chris: "I'm sure I could get one if I wanted to, but at the moment, I don't. Rick does though"

Rick: "Yes I do. My room number is 16. You can come by later if you want, but don't go in if I don't answer, I might not be there. Sometimes I like to go to the glass dome and stare into the ocean water"

Snoe: "Chris, are you staying here?"

Chris: "I wasn't planning on it, because I didn't expect you to come along, but you cant go to the other bases yet, so I guess I will stay here for at least tonight"

Snoe: "Where is your room going to be?"

Chris: "I can choose any room I want. Remember the two empty rooms at the top of the ladder?"

Snoe: "Yeah"

Chris: "Those are empty just in case I need to stay here for any reason"

Snoe: "Why are there two?"

Chris: ".. I won't say. It's not important anyway... I'm staying in room two tonight. Come by whenever. If I'm not in my room, I'm probably watching the fish with Rick in the glass dome"

They are in the front of the line now. They go through, get their food, and start walking to their table.

Snoe: "Do you hang out with Rick often?"

Chris: "Yeah. Any chance I get. If there's a mission I'm going on, I'll try to get him to go with me, and if he goes on a mission, I'm probably with him. We're best buds"

Rick: "We used to be more than that before you found Mike"

Snoe: "You did?"

Chris: ".. yes, we did. It was.. a bad breakup"

Rick stops walking, and they stop after him.

Rick: "You're damn right it was bad! You couldn't come up with an explanation for why you wanted to break up! You just said "We're done", and when I asked why, all you could tell me was "It's hard to explain"! --I would've liked it if you had just told me you found someone you liked more than me"

Chris: "Ricky, I-"

Rick: "No. You already said you're sorry, and I already forgave you. It's.. just gonna take some time for me to get used to it.. okay?"

Chris: "Okay"

Rick: "It's gonna take some time to get used to waking up without you next to me"

Chris: "Rick.."

Rick: "It's gonna take some time for me to get used to not seeing you everyday"

Chris: "Ricky.."

Rick: "It's.. It's going to take some time to get used to not kissing you when I get back from a mission, and cuddling with you late at night after a hard day, and talking to you about certain issues I can't talk to you about if we aren't together, and... I have to go"

Rick is crying.

Chris: "Ricky, please don't go"

Rick walks off with his food while covering his face to hide his tears. Chris then remembers Snoe and turns to look at her.

Chris: "Sorry you had to see that. We broke up a little over a month ago and he still can't get over it. I feel bad for him. I still love him, but I don't know how to tell him that"

They continue walking to the table. They sit down and continue talking.

Snoe: "I think you should talk to him tonight"

Chris: "What would I say?"

Snoe: "Just tell him how you feel and go from there"

Chris: "I'll try"

They eat their food.
