Author's note: sorry for the wait I was grounded for two weeks cause I failed a chemistry test and my parents got kinda mad and said no wattpad for two weeks 🥺. Well, now I'm back so enjoy thanks for reading my stories!!

Delilah could barely sleep the night before, she was excited to walk into the office with her new look. New look, new beginning, it was time to make a good impression. Her mother said that looks didn't matter if you were beautiful inside, but this, Delilah thought, was an exception.

She took a shower and did her hair, blowing it dry. Her hair was as obedient as usual, she could feel the soft, silky strands tickle her back when she dried it. She looked into the mirror, she could see chocolate brown eyes peering back at her.

"I am enough," she said.

She tried on the new blouse she bought when she and Alyce went shopping. It was pink with ruffles around the collar. She then put on a brown skirt that hugged her hips and thighs. They had a little trouble finding one that she could fit in. She had quite the curvaceous body, which she felt insecure about also. Last of all she added the blazer. She certainly looked more professional, she turned around in front of the mirror, in awe of how something as small as an outfit change could make such a huge difference.

She was about to leave but stopped. She looked into the mirror one last time.

"I am enough."

"Delilah is that you?" She heard Anita say. Delilah's ears burned as everyone took a look.

"Y-yes?" She began to stutter, it was hard to keep cool when all eyes were on her. She wanted to look better so no one would look down on her for sticking out, not to be the center of attention. She quickly walked to her desk, sat down, and started work.

"You look so sexy in that outfit. It's amazing. You look great, Delilah."

"T-thanks" Delilah looked down and smiled.

Delilah quickly folded envelopes, wrote the reports, and did paperwork after paperwork. In fact, she was so fixed on her work that she didn't notice someone shuffling over to her desk. It was Dan.

"Hey Delilah,"

"Oh hello, Dan." Delilah slightly jolted from her chair. He stared intently at her. "D-do you need anything, Dan?"

"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to tell you how beautiful you look today."

Delilah blushed, a man called her beautiful. There was silence. Dan stayed where he was and smiled. Think of something, Delilah, think! She thought to herself, she didn't like making conversations awkward when she didn't know what to say anymore. "Y-you're looking very nice today too." She laughed nervously.

More silence. Delilah shifted in her seat uncomfortably. After what seemed like an eternity, Dan finally spoke. "Well, I should be getting back to work now, 'don't want to get fired."

He waddled away. Great, you ruined the conversation, Delilah. She thought of the ways she could have at least not made a fool of herself or how she could have saved Dan the trouble of feeling uncomfortable with her horrible, awkward conversation skills.

"Since when did Dan start talking to anybody?" Anita leaned over with a whisper.

"H-he doesn't talk to anybody?" Delilah whispered back.

"I don't know, I don't talk to him because he's kinda creepy."

"D-don't say that!" Delilah kept her voice as low as possible. "He's very nice."
