PART 11
Chapter 21
(Cameron)
"But that's not possible!" I replied, raising my voice. "I went to their funeral!"
"Did you actually see their dead bodies?" Alexa asked calmly.
"Uh, well.......no."
"That's because they're not actually dead. And now they're probably going to come here to save their son, and end up dead."
"So what are we supposed to do?"
"I don't know. We don't have many options, seeing as I'm tied to a chair and you're, well, there's just not many things we can do."
I shifted my weight and felt the familiar shape of my miniature switchblade in my back pocket. I didn't think anything of it at first, but then it hit me. When the guy searched me, he apparently wasn't thorough enough.
"Can they see us in here?" I asked, earning a puzzled look from Alexa.
"I don't think so," she replied. "Why?"
"I know this might sound weird, but can you, um, get something for me?"
"What can I possibly get for you while I'm like this?" she looked around her, motioning to the room in general.
I stood up and walked to the back of the chair, where Alexa's hands were. I then turned so my back was facing her. "Can you, uh, reach into my back right pocket. My switchblade's still in there."
"Do I have to?" Alexa asked with mock horror. She slowly moved one of her hands upward, gently feeling around until she found my back pocket. I smirked. Under more pleasant circumstances, I might have found this fun. Alexa reached her hand into my back pocket and gently slid out the blade. I turned back around and took it out of her hand.
I flipped the blade out, then cut through the zip-tie around my wrists with ease. "I'm going to cut your hands loose." I said to Alexa. "Don't move." I then cut Alexa's wrists free, being careful to not cut her in the process. Then I moved to her feet and cut them loose.
Alexa sat rubbing her wrists for a minute, then she looked up at me. "So what do we do now?"
A plan was slowly forming in my head. It was crazy, but it was probably our only shot. "Have they called my parents yet?" I asked.
"Probably not. Why?"
"Well, my parents won't come to save me if I'm already dead, right?"
"I don't follow..." Alexa sent me a puzzled look.
I held my switchblade out for Alexa to take, and she hesitated, then took it. "You're going to get us out of here." I said with a grin. Alexa still looked confused. I explained further. "When I say so, you need to wrap one of your arms around my shoulders-" I stood in front of her, my back to her front, and took one of her arms, wrapping it around my shoulders. "Then you have to hold the blade up close to my neck." I took her arm with the blade in it and brought it up to my neck, positioning it so it was threateningly close to my skin. "Finally, you need to demand that they let us leave, or else you'll kill me. Got it?" I released her arms and turned to face her. She looked terrified.
"Can you do that?" I asked quietly.
She nodded. "But what if they still won't let us go?"
"Well, um, I guess we'll have to think of something on the spot. We just need to have some sort of advantage, since there's no way we can overpower all of them."
"Okay," Alexa said semi-confidently, "I can do this." She took a deep breath.
"Follow my lead," I said, then began yelling. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!? WE COULD HAVE ESCAPED TOGETHER!"
