✧・゚: *✧・゚:*"I am not sure of it being a hotel." Mr. Kim said casually, his eyes never leaving the road.
I could see his side profile clearly since I was sitting just behind the driver and he was on the side passenger seat. "What do you mean?" I blurted out.
"There are almost no hotels in Sangok-ri." The village head tried to explain, looking at the village head I assumed Sangok must be a cool place to visit.
He had this suit and tidy clothing which looked expensive, how could they not have a single hotel in this entire village? Call me judgmental but some might agree that the book cover does attract reader's attention.
"The only Hotel here in Sangok is closed, since no one visits here without any purpose, or a beforehand notice." He cautioned and then turned around to glance at us, his eyes were dark and fuzzy. His face barely visible in the beam of the car's headlights.
I could rather tell that there was so much hidden behind those black orbs, but couldn't exactly figure if it was good or bad. He was so unpredictable, silent and composed, that might be either because he was too wise or on the worse side vicious.
"Then where do we stay at night?" Heesung anxiously questioned, I was starting to get worried too.
I had gotten us involved in this mess, and we didn't even have a place to sleep. Staying was a far away choice.
Something in me wanted to hold on, I wasn't ready to let go of the last string of hope, not when the destination was into the light.
"There is a place, it is deep into the forest. A house, more of a mansion. That might be the only place for you to stay at the moment. As you can see, not many visitors are welcomed in our village. So, for your betterment you can chose to live on the outskirts and into the forest." Mr. Kim advised without turning back, he stood still and let out the words fluidly.
Not many visitors are welcomed? What was his intention behind those words? I decided to turn a blind eye on it, he might not like me asking so many questions.
I had this habit of inquiring of every single detail of something till I am made fully aware of it. Some people might find it immaculate and some might find it infuriating and I didn't know what kind of type Mr. Kim would fit into.
"We will stay there for now, until we find any better options, could you leave us there?" Heesung grabbed his front seat and leaned to take a look at Mr. Kim, while he graciously requested.
Mr. Kim replied, "Why not? We can drop you on the way there, but you'll have to go inside all by yourself. I would've sent you off, but it's getting dark, my wife and kid is waiting for me at home. I hope you under—"
"We understand, and you've already done enough for us, we will go there by ourselves. Thank you." Heesung disrupted in between and then leaned back on the seat. I was quietly listening to their conversation since I had nothing else to do.
I viewed Heesung from the corner of my eyes, a light glow reflected on his face as he struggled to get the network or any sign of help from the electric device, that laid in his hands.
I could tell that he was apprehensive on the given situation and not even once did he blame me, when I was the sole reason of these indigence happenings.
My eyes were busy scanning Mr. Kim moves, another one of my habits, it's just an attempt to know the person's character by his body language and I was doing the same thing unintentionally.
When I got bored staring at Mr. Kim's side view, I gave up, and sat straight and I looked forward.
I soon realized that the driver was behaving strangely, he was continuously trying to wipe the sweat which was forming on his forehead. I couldn't get it because it was pretty cold inside, not enough to send shivers but certainly enough to not sweat it out.
He stuttered under his breath, "But sir, that house—" I managed to hear it surprisingly, Heesung was still oblivious and focused on his cell phone. But he was cut of my Mr. Kim's stare and before I could look back at him, Mr. Kim exclaimed,
"Here we are!"
