To be very honest I was never really bothered by anything he might have done to me that was slighting in any way. Because even if the idea that "ah this dude exists" was now at the back of my brain, I had already completely forgotten about him the next day.So when I was told by my sister, well technically she's not my sister, but I consider her my sister since she lived at our house... Anyways when my sister told me that, 'she had seen this guy taking photos by the side of the road on her way home and by being the avid model thar she is, shd walked up to him and struck up a conversation. By the time she left him, they had set up a time to meet during the weekend to have a photoshoot and did I know him... cause he was most likely doing the same course as me...' I had no idea who she was talking about until she showed me his instagram page.
"Oh! That guy, yeah he's in the same course as me but a year higher!"
She tried to convince me to come with her but I don't know... I just wasn't too keen, so I left it at that.
~~~Sometime during the next week, our entire class were going on a trip/visit to an elderly home for one of our first serious assessment projects. While we were waiting for our transport to arrive, I went to change my top.
When I came back I saw that he was chatting to my friends. They were standing under the entrance archway and his back was turned to me. So I walked up to them, stood next my friends facing him and said, "Hi."
"Hello, nice to meet you!"
"lol, we've already met..."
"We have? I don't remember introducing ourselves to each other."
"Eh? Ah.. sure."
Ah wena! right at that moment I knew he was a special type of person. Not special but "special." Either way, he continued his conversation with my friends. They must have been talking about his photography because all of sudden I remembered my sister mentioning him and told him about it.
"Ah.. her.. you know her.. she still hasn't confirmed whether she will come or not. Do you want to come with her? Will you be my muse?"
You have know idea how taken aback I was.. like fuck this guy ain't normal!! Like one second he doesn't know me and the next what?! MUSE? WHAT? What the heck is he going on about?!/
"My muse.. you know like an inspiration for my photography..."
"Dude you could literally just say model or something."
"Same difference."
We left for our outing. I was weirded out. He had promised to come see us during lunch break at the cafeteria some other day.
...True to his word, I few days later, as I was sitting in the cafeteria with my friends after classes- for the first time since I had started uni, normally I practically ran home after classes- we see him walking towards us.
I wasn't planning on staying long so after a while of faffing around, I made a move to leave as my girls were going to the library to study while waiting for the common transport.
And that's when he decides to strike up a conversation with me. I don't know how it happened but we ended up exchanging insta handles and chatting about random things (I can't for the life of me remember what.) I do know that I told him I was Christian though.
Anyways, an hour or so later I really had to leave and he offered to accompany me as I walked the 1 km between uni and the shopping mall where I took my bus. I was surprised to say the least.
As we were walking, I think I mentioned that my mom always teased me about how expressive I was when telling a story so he persuaded me to narrate a story for him and he would be the judge of howexpressive I was. Unfortunately or fortunately, I don't know, we were half way there when I saw a bus coming in our direction. The story was cut short as I ran for it.
Later, as I was sitting in the bus, I reflected on what had just happened and somewhere deep down I knew that this wouldn't be an ordinary relationship.
Later that day, I slid in his DMs. I don't know why I did.. Lol.. but I used the excuse of not having finished my story from earlier. I think it might have been because he was just such a different character that I was weirdly intrigued.
We ended up talking a bit throughout the evening and eventually, I think, set a day where he'd take photos of me.
After went on with our lives as we had before. Until one day I was sitting by the student house eating ice-cream and he rocked up with his camera and snapped pics of me. They honestly turned out great! I still use them to this day :)
