I narrate this story solely from my memory of how things happened. So if I seem judgmental please forgive me.
I will start with this...
Once upon a time a young girl, that's me, started uni (or college as some would say, where I'm from college means high school but never mind I digress.) So yeah I was in university doing a bachelor's degree in Advertising, Public Relations and Media. Impressive I know! Lol
I first saw him in my second week of uni. My class had been assigned a task by our Media lecturer, and we were running around campus in two groups taking pictures with a DSLR camera. It was the first time for most of us to use one of these cameras and the struggle was real, let me tell you. However, I was lucky enough to have already made several good friends from my class. David, one of my new friends, was in my group and knew some Second-Year students, one of whom was him.
He was a second year studying the same course as me. Seeing him manipulate the camera after David asked for help made me wonder when I'd ever be able to be like that.
He looked so skilled and knowledgeable and just solved our issue with a few flicks and twists and with such ease. I was totally impressed! But only by his skills.
Honestly speaking, that was the only thing I remembered about him then. That and the fact that he had cool pants and a cute friend. I remembered the pants cause one of the girls from my group kept on joking with him about them. As for his friend, David pushed me in that direction to "socialise."
Before going any further, I have to give you a description of David. You know that really cool and caring older cousin you have, or that awesome young uncle? Yeah, well, he was like that. Older than me but so caring and nice. Or maybe I'm the only one who can relate to this description because I come from such a large family?! IDK. Either way, David was awesome, and clever and did I mention Awesome!!
Anyways, going back to him, I later learned from my friends that he was a YouTuber. I remember that I watched one of his videos later that day and found his voice hilarious. But that was the last time I saw him for a long time. I'm not even sure if we greeted each other that day. I didn't even know his name then. Honestly, I would never have suspected that he would play such a crazy important and major role in my life, in the months and years to come. Sheesh I was in for a ride and had no idea whatsoever of what was ahead of me.
