Everyone just stood there in an awkward, dragged on silence, matching stunned expressions on their faces. With a quick, small glance around the now messy living room, Emily broke the already elongated silence. "This has been a strange day," she said, a tiny bit stressed; from the past week's events. She turned and looked from Lawrence and Lydia to the Maitlands.

Everyone else nodded, humming their agreement.

A soft and faint smile flashed across her daughter's face as the latter stepped towards her. "It was strange and unusual," Lydia said, with the slightest hint of a laugh within her tone.

The Maitlands floated towards Lydia, who turned to them just as Barbara put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a smile. "That crazy plan of yours worked!"

"Well, we did make a good team." Lydia looked between the Maitlands, an even brighter smile crossing her face. Her attention focused on the living room floor for a moment, then back on the Maitlands. "We did kill someone though."

"But we did it together!" Emily grinned. Lydia turned to her for a brief moment, to give her a high five, then she turned back to the Maitlands; that smile of hers even brighter.

"Adam? Barbara?" Lydia glanced from Adam to Barbara respectively. When Lydia fell silent after a while, the Maitlands urged her to continue; Barbara again put a hand on Lydia's shoulder. "Do you- do you mind if we all share this house?"

Adam and Barbara shared a look. It wasn't that long before a decision had been made, and the Maitlands glanced back at Lydia.

"Of course," Barbara said with a sweet smile.

"We'd love that." Adam stepped forward, his hand on Barbara's back. He glanced around the living room for a brief moment, then turned back to Lydia. He gestured around the messiness vaguely. "Sorry if it's kind of a mess."

Barbara looked at her husband for a moment. A tiny smirk crept across the ghost's face. "But it's nothing we can't fix," she added, covering her husband's mouth with the palm of her hand for a moment before removing it. He nodded in response.

Lawrence looked at the others, a saddened look in his eyes. He stepped towards the door.

"I'm just so happy for you all," he said, his voice soft. "So I guess I'll just go...."

He was about to open the door and exit the house, when Lydia turned around to face him in an instant. "Lawrence," she called out, stopping him short.

Lawrence spun around, stunned into silence. "Did you say something?"

"We'd like you to stay," Lydia continued, with a smile on her face. She stepped towards the living male. "You said it yourself: you don't always get it, but you're a part of it."

"Rock on!" Lawrence chipped out, jumping joyfully. "I'm just gonna put it out there: this is the best day of my life!"

Lydia grinned, looking around at the others. "Now let's clean up." Her attention locked and focused on Barbara. "Barb?"

Barbara nodded in response, materialising a few mops and brooms out of thin air; for each one of them. She floated two of the brooms and a mop down, for her, Adam and Lydia, and levitated the other mop and the other broom over towards Emily and Lawrence.

Both living adults turned and looked at one another, uncertain, but they took the mop and the broom regardless.

Lawrence began sweeping the floors with the broom right away, but he caught a glimpse of Emily, who was doing the exact opposite of what she was supposed to be doing. She wasn't mopping but rather turned and gazing at the wall.
