Keiji's sister, Keira's POV:

I trembled as I stood looking out into the forest, the wolves had been angrier I could tell as they howled all night. As if there was something happening, I bit my bottom lip thinking of my brother as I gripped onto my bag of supplies.

"Keira you aren't actually thinking of going to find Keiji are you." A boy by the name of Steven questioned from behind me making me turn to him, I knew he was interested in me but I hadn't been looking for love. I never really thought of it to be honest, I was pass the age where most girls were married. Maybe that was why I was chosen to be a offering, but I didn't care all I needed was my brother.

He was all I had left after our parents had been mauled by the beast, the one the villagers had claim to be a demon of some short. It is said it had towered at 8 feet and it'd rip you apart, "I have no choice, I can't just leave my brother to die alone. He did this for me, it wouldn't be right for me to abandon him." I let out, he sighs looking at me sadly

"Why don't you stay, stay here with me?" He questioned, hope filled his eyes. Unfortunately being shattered as the words left my mouth "I have no will to become your at home wife Steven, I never have." I let out, he looks down his heart breaking at the words. That much I could tell, but I moved on traveling out into the forest, I hadn't cared what anyone in this village said. I would find my brother, even if it meant dying.

As I traveled deeper into the woods, about a hour in, though I wasn't paying attention to the time, I heard what seemed to be a rustle in a bush, I quickly turned around my fingers gripped around a small knife that wasn't much but it was better than being out here with nothing, as the noise closed in my grip got tighter and my heart speeded up.

Before I knew it a body fell out into the ground with a thump making me jump back in surprise I gasped, part of me hoping it had been my brother though I knew it wasn't as the man wore what seemed to be metal on his body, maybe to protect himself, Though it didn't do a very good job at it, I slowly approached his still body bending down as I took off the helmet

He had the prettiest hair, it resembled the sun, I've never seen anything like it before as most people in our village had black hair, his face had been just as pretty. His eyelashes longer than my own my face flustered as I looked at the man, I could tell he wasn't from around here. He looked badly injured, I remembered the way I had come from I thought to myself

Should I leave him? Or take him back to the village, perhaps they'd fear him and banish him to the woods. I had to decide quickly as the sky darkened I bit my lip. I didn't know why but I decided that I'd help the man.
