Fleur walked through the halls with me, the lavender dress trailing behind me. I felt like a princess walking through the halls of the castle. Everyone moved out of my way and looked at me with envy and others with pride. As we rounded the corner I stopped in my tracks seeing Cedric in his dress robes. My heart skipped a beat as he turned around and his eyes landed on me.

Frozen in my spot Cedric came over with a huge grin spreading across his face as he came up to me holding his arm out to grab me to grab. Wrapping my arm around his, a smile that hurt my cheeks spread across my face. "You look beautiful." Cedric says as we make our way to the hall.

"And you look very handsome." I say quietly as my cheeks turn a light pink. He chuckles lightly as we walk into the entrance where Professor McGonagall is lining the Champions up to walk in and for the first dance. Cedric and I walked over to McGonagall and walked up behind Harry and Cho. He turned around and gave me a small smile, he looked like he was sweating buckets as he turned back around and looked at Cho who was looking effortlessly beautiful.

Walking in the fake snow that fell around us made small goose bumps rise on my arms, the hall looked absolutely amazing and the idea that I was a princess began to feel like an actual ball a princess would go to. Cedric and I danced and danced as the night got later and later. My feet started to hurt, at the same time alcohol had started to kick in from Fred and George spiking the punch.

Cedric had gone to go get drinks for us so I danced with a few of my friends. Fred stepped on my feet a few times and George bailed on me to dance with Angelina, Fleur had danced a few songs with me when I decided to go and find Cedric. As I walked towards the punch table I saw Cho kissing Cedric. My heart dropped to my stomach, I could feel the tears filling my eyes, I tried blinking to get them to go away as I turned away and left the hall to see Hermione throw her shoe at Ron and Harry as they went up the stairs.

Hermione collapses on the stairs and starts to cry, I walk over next to her and pull her into a hug hoping to forget what I just saw. "Hey, hey you're okay, what is wrong? What did Ron do this time?" I asked as I rubbed her arm as she leaned into my chest.

"Ron, ugh, he's mad that I went to the ball with Krum and was just being rotten." She said as she looked up whipping the tears away. "It's stupid really." she looked at me giving me a strange look. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah I'm fine." I say with a fake smile. "You should probably head back to your dorm. Out of the corner of my eye I see Cedric come out of the hall, his eyes scanning the people leaving the hall. Before landing on me, he started to make his way toward me when I turned away and left school and went to the carriage to go to bed for the first time in weeks.

Fleur didn't come in till late and was surprised to see me sitting in bed writing a letter to my dad, not that she knew it was to my dad. I spent most of the night crying in silence as I watched the moon cross the sky.

The next weeks leading up to the second task I spent ignoring Cedric and spending my time with Fleur trying to figure out what the clue for the next task was. It was when we were studying charms that she had realized that the sound the egg was making was something she had heard before. After realizing the task we spent every hour getting me ready by practicing the bubble head charm and seeing how long it'll last.

Apparently Cedric has tried to get Fleur to get me to talk to him but I have been avoiding him since the ball. I hate that I let him into my heart again knowing that it was going to end in heartbreak. I know he has only ever seen me as a friend but it still hurts. Fleur tried to figure out what had happened and after a week I told her. She seemed to pity me as she stopped trying to help Cedric see me. However she still thinks that I am miss understanding what happened.

Today was the day of the tournament. I haven't seen Fleur since last night when she was called out of the dorm. I feel fairly confident with completing this task but not having Fleur here was making my nerves go crazy. After breakfast everyone was heading to the edge of the black lake to get to the second task. I climbed into a boat with Fred and George who were waiting on Lee when I noticed Cedric show up at the edge of the lake. Panicking, I use my wand to push the boat harshly out into the water, almost knocking George out of the boat with it's force.

"Gah! What the hell Vicky, we were waiting for Lee." George shouted as he sat back up. That's when he made eye contact with Cedric who was giving the boys a scowl and then glanced over to me and his expression saddened as I looked over the water trying to ignore him. Fred and George looked at each other, giving a nod and sitting there quietly for the rest of the ride to the middle of the lake.

Standing there between Krum and Harry I watch the water slap against the makeshift stands created for the second task. I did hear Dumbledore's speech as I watched the water wondering what could be at the bottom of the lake. I heard the horn get blown casting the bubblehead spell I dive into the water. In the water it is impossible to see anything. The murky water only allows me to see 2 feet ahead of me, all I know is that I am traveling down.

In front of me I can see some torn down structures as the water turned from a murky brown to a clearer dark blue, since the sunlight can't travel this far down. Swimming forward I see a merman point a pitch fork at Harry as Cedric pulled a knife out and cut his friend Liam out of the seaweed that was holding him down. Harry tried to get Hermione and Fleur, swimming forward a sharklike person swam past me and cut Hermione free as I cast a spell to free Fleur. I looked at Harry who urged me to go. So swimming up I wrap my arm around her and pull her towards the surface.

As we breach the surface Fleur wakes from her sleep a few seconds behind us Ron breaches the surface and starts to swim the dock. The nurse pulls Fleur out of the water and Hermione pulls Ron. I start to pull myself out of the water when my hands grip my arms and pull me to my feet. Looking up, my eyes lock with Cedric.

"Ah, thank you." I mumble, he's about to say something when Harry comes flying out of the water and lands on the dock. Hermione and Ron rush forward and Fleur pulls me away from Cedric. The judges started to argue over something when one of the merchief came and talked to Dumbledore. The Judges concluded with Harry and Cedric tying, Krum in second and me in last.

Fleur and I were sitting in the boats waiting for someone else to join the boat when Fred and George came over, I moved over thinking they were going to join us. However instead Lee came out of nowhere and shaved a yellow shirted boy into the boy and Fred and George pulled Fleur out of the boat.

The shocked boy stands up to get back off the boat when a spell was shot out and pushed the boat out onto the lake. Spinning around I realize said boy was Cedric, I look back to the dock to see Fred and George give me an encouraging smile and thumbs up.

Rolling my eyes I look back to Cedric who looks awkward and nervous. Sitting down across from me he stares at me for some time before I say something. "Why are you staring at me?" I asked in a rude tone.

"I wasn't staring, I was admiring." He said in a cheeky tone before he saw the look on my face and the smile on his face disappeared. "At the Yule Ball it's not what you think." He says changing the subject.

"Oh, yeah Diggory? What was it then? Cause I'm pretty sure I saw Cho Chang kissing you at the Yule ball when I was your date and Harry was her date." I say in a bitter tone and he cringes as if the memory of it hurts him.

"Cho was drunk, she drank too much punch, she thought that I was Harry and so she came over and kissed me. I pushed her off so quickly but I guess you didn't see that as you ran out of there so quickly." he says as he watches my face to see if I believe him. I watched the features on his face trying to detect any lies. I just stayed silent listening to him ramble on about how it was not what it seemed and how much he missed me the entire ride back. As the boat hit land I stood up and looked towards him.

"I believe you." I say turning and leaving the boat, but I didn't make it two steps as I was tackled to the ground by Cedric. Who was thanking me over and over again and laughing.
