chapter 12

y/n's pov~

i was leaving the butterfly estate while kanao went to go discuss something with shinobu.

while they were talking i decided to go to the love estate where kanroji mitsuri, the love pillar, igoru obanai, the snake pillar, uzui tengen, the sound pillar, and rengoku kyojuro, the flame pillar, sat all having tea together.

"i'm home!" i yell walking in, taking off my shoes at the genkan and put on a pair of slippers. "hello master y/n." one of the kakushi greets me as i walk in. "please no need to be so formal! you can just call me y/n!" i say with a warming smile, waving it off. "oh- my apologies y/n!" "it's okay no worries! also, where is mitsuri?" "oh yes! kanroji-san wanted me to tell you once you arrived back that her along with masters igoru, uzui, and rengoku are in the garden drinking tea." the kakushi says standing back up. "ah thank you!" i say with a smile and head that way.

"good afternoon!" i say as i enter the garden where mitsuri, uzui, kyojuro, and obanai are sitting. "good afternoon y/n-chan!" rengoku says brightly. i giggle at him and wave as everyone else greets me.

i sit down in front of  mitsuri and obanai as we all discuss random topics that pop up. eventually the question comes up. the one everyone has been secretly wondering. "y/n, do you like anyone?" uzui suddenly asks. as soon as my brain processes what he just said my face immediately turned beat red.

everyone's attention was now on me. even kaburamaru was looking at me. "u-uhm well it depends what you mean by 'like'" i chuckle nervously. "gasp! you do like someone y/n!!" mitsuri squeals. "EEEE! I WONDER WHO IT IS!!" she squeals louder as rengoku laughs and obanai tried to calm mitsuri down. "damn this got hectic real fast" i think giggling.

"speaking of liking someone.." i say looking at both obanai and mitsuri giving them both a look. "i in fact do have a crush on someone. and i plan on confessing sometime soon." i say looking at the group of pillars.

obanai lifts an eyebrow in confusion. "how do you plan on doing so?" he asks me. "well... me and shinobu came up with a plan." i say with a smirk.

i explain the plan to them all and they all agree to it. "aaah!!! i still can believe you have a crush on kanao!! she's so cute and quiet!!" mitsuri says smiling with her eyes squeezed shut as she leans in closer to obanai who has his arm wrapped around her.

uzui let's out a hearty chuckle. "what a flamboyant idea y/n! you and shinobu are so creative!" he says as i smile. "i'll talk to my wives about it. im sure they would be more than happy to help you flamboyantly confess your love to kanao!" he says with a bright smile.

"good im glad so far everything is going to plan. now all we have to do is let the other pillars know." i say with a deep breath.

"no worries about that!" rengoku says with a bright smile. "me and tengen will send out crows out letting the rest know!" he says in a determined voice.

"yeah and i'll send a crow to the ubuyashiki residents letting oyakata-sama know of the event." obanai says. even though you couldn't see because of his mask you know he was smiling at you.

"thank you all so much. i have no idea what i would do without you all!" i say with a bright smile.

we all share a big laugh as we continued our random conversation topics.

kanao's pov~

i assume that y/n was at the love estate since she wasn't still at the butterfly estate.

i go on my way to the love estate when i run into tanjiro.

"oh! hello! kanao was it?" he says as he looks at me with a big smile.

"should i talk to him? no one has given me an order to talk to him. what do i do? do i talk to him?" i think staring at him blankly with a plastered smile on my face. i feel around in my pocket and find the coin my oldest sister gave to me before she died. she said i should use it whenever i have to make a decision on my own.

i pull out the coin and flip it in the air. "heads i talk, tails i leave." i think as the coin lands on the top of my hand. i lift my other hand for it to reveal heads.

"yes im kanao." i say blankly and quietly with a closed eye smile.

tanjiro gives me a confused look but decides to not mention the coin. thank goodness. "im tanjiro!" "yeah i know." i think. i just give a small nod, my smile not faltering once.

tanjiro talks to me for a bit even though i tried to leave many times. "he really never gives up does he?" i think as an irk mark starts to form as i get fed up with him trying to talk to me. "i really just want to go find y/n. i miss them." i think.

"sayonara" i say and finally leave. he tries to stop me once but realizes im not going to listen. "he finally got the hint." i think, mentally rolling my eyes.

"now to find my y/n"
