chapter 7

y/n's pov:

kanao sits down next to me and we sit in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, enjoying the beautiful scenery.

it was such an amazing day today. it was close to being winter so there were a lot of orange and red leaves on the ground along with acorns. the breeze was faint, yet chilly, but the small rays of sunshine that peeked through the tree branches kept us warm.

from the corner of my eye, I can see kanao shiver a bit from the breeze. I look over to her and motion her to get closer to me. She does so and lays her head on my chest. my heart starts to beat a bit faster than before from the contact but all I can hope now is that she doesn't notice.

kanao's pov:

I move closer to y/n and lay my head on their chest, trying to get warmer. I can hear their heartbeat speed up a bit and I quietly giggle to myself. they don't seem to hear it, thankfully.

as time goes by and we throw a few conversation topics at each other, my eyes start to grow heavy as I yawn and grow tired. y/n seems to notice this by saying, "Kanao, if you're tired, you can take a nap. I don't mind." she says with a soft smile. I look up and smile at her with closed eyes and I lay my head down on her lap. As I slowly sink into slumber I feel y/n play with my hair. "you can take my ponytail out. it feels good when you play with my hair." I say softly as y/n lets out a small quiet "hm." and I fall asleep into a nice, quiet nap.

y/n's pov:

kanao lays her head down on my lap and I immediately feel the blood rushing to my face. luckily, she can't see me. I reach down and feel Kanao's hair. "holy shit, it's so soft." I think as I play with her hair. "you can take my ponytail out. it feels good when you play with my hair." she says softly. I comply and I take out her butterfly clip as well as her hair tie.

not long after, I hear soft snores coming from the girl lying on my lap, signaling she's asleep. I smile softly and continue playing with her hair. I stop after a while and look around us finding a patch of dandelions.

since I was a bit bored, I decided to make flower crowns for me and kanao. As I was making the crown, I saw a familiar black and turquoise-haired boy in the distance. I wave him over and he walks over to me and kanao. "hey mui! what's up?" I say to the boy. he stares at me for a bit before joining me in making flower crowns. "nothing really. it's been pretty boring." he says in his usual monotonous voice. "ah, that sucks. You're welcome to hang out with us for as long as you'd like tho!" I say trying to keep quiet, for the girl below me is still sleeping.

"so... how's your date going?" muichiro asks casually, not averting his eyes from what he's doing. I stop what I'm doing for a split second and blush different shades of pink before resuming. "i-i don't know what you're talking about. We're not on a date." I say with the tiniest bit of sadness in my voice. "mhm" Mui says not believing a word I said. "shut up, dumbass. you don't even know what it's like to have a crush on a girl." I say jokingly rolling my eyes at him earning a small chuckle out of the boy. "just because I have a boyfriend, doesn't mean I've never liked a girl, y/n." he says making me giggle. "speaking of which, how are you and Alex?" I ask curiously starting up a conversation between us.

a/n: ooo mui has a boyfriend??? I wonder who Alex is 😳
