The Heron

"JESPER WILL YOU KNOCK IT OFF?!"

Jenn's voice rang out clearly in the early hours of the morning.

"That's it. Good-bye Jesper." Said Isack who was fed up with hearing Cora and Jenn complain about Jesper flirting with them, besides, Jenn didn't swing that way and Cora was very obviously TAKEN.

Once again, Jesper flew overboard, tossed into the air but this time by a left-handed blow to the face.

"That's gonna hurt..." Cora said softly.

"Awww but Isack, I wanted to do it." Whined Stephen.

"Shut up Stiv. You aren't high on my list of favorite people either." Isack snapped.

"Oh calm down Izzy, it'll be okay. I think you got your point across." Cora laughed, intertwining her fingers with his.

"Yeah that's what we thought last time too." Isack muttered.

"Ulf, Wulf, pull him back up now." Hal ordered. "Next time, I might just do it myself."

That evening, Cora was sitting on the railing, unable to sleep. She had told Stefan, who was on watch, to go to bed about an hour before.

"Why are you still up? You aren't on watch 'till tomorrow." Came a voice from right behind her.

"Isack, you scared me!" She exclaimed.

"Well maybe you shouldn't have taken Stefan's watch. Why are you awake?"

"I... couldn't sleep. Stupid nightmares..."

"Is the nightmares the only thing that is bothering you?"

"Yes... well... no..."

"Okay?"

"Well, I kinda have something I wanna talk to you about."

"Let's sit on the deck, where you're less likely to fall off, and then we can talk about anything you want."

When they sat down, Isack set his hand in hers and stroking the back of her hand, but she still seemed really tense, so he hugged her.

"Soooo? What is it?"

"Well... it's something I've tried to mention before but I never really managed to get out. I know you think you are too young for us to actually date, and I'm not even sixteen yet, but... I'm sorry... my opinion on it is that yeah, our ages are a little questionable, but we are mature enough. I think that no matter what anyone says, we should keep things the way they are, and let it move as slow as it has been. I don't mind us going slow, and it's actually kinda funny to tell people they're wrong about the fact that we should've kissed by now. But anyway, my point is, I don't want you to feel pressured into doing anything. Although, you could put your arm around me a little more often. I'm not sure why, but... it helps me feel a little... safer, and more comfortable, and a little less depressed. It's not necessary, just a random request. I like the way things are now. And it's kinda funny when you get really protective of me. I like it. It makes me feel special."

"That all makes sense, but I still don't wanna tell everyone in our world about us yet. It's better left as a secret. At least for now."

"Okey-dokey, that went better than expected."

"Why? Did you expect I would completely reject the whole thing?"

"I was kinda worried that I'd say the wrong thing and you would be mad at me."

"Well, you didn't."

He smiled and put an arm around her as she laid her head on his chest. Soon, her breathing evened and he knew she was asleep, and he drifted to sleep as well.

The Nightwolf

Tursgud, Kiera, and the crew had reached Soccoro and Kiera was unhappy with Tursgud, to say the very least.

"Selling people into slavery is just... wrong!" She yelled at him.

"We just had this conversation. It's how I make my living. I'm sorry you don't like it. You try being rejected by a whole country."

"If you weren't such a jerk to them maybe they wouldn't have rejected you!"

"You'll stay quiet. You are really getting on my nerves, and i didn't want to do this. I'm sorry." Tursgud sighed, then turned to two of his rowers.

"You two, tie her to the mast and gag her. I don't need another injury. But be gentle, we wouldn't want to hurt her. Otherwise we'd have to face her 'boyfriend'."

"You stupid jer-"
