Best Friends

Jimin's POV

"So let me make sure I'm hearing you clearly. You and Jungkook finally kissed and now you're dating??"

I bit my bottom lip to hold back my smile as I nodded to Taehyung. Shock and awe washed over his expression before he yanked me into a tight hug.

"Well it's about damn time! I remember when you first told me you had a crush on him and how he acted! I told you even then he had the hots for you! You didn't believe me, but now look at you! I knew he was into you, Jimin! Congratulations!"

I giggled into Tae's shoulder, unable to contain my joy. "I can hardly believe it even still. Do you think he liked me the whole time or just developed feelings when I started ignoring him?"

Taehyung gripped my shoulders and leaned me back to make eye contact. "That boy has been in love with you since the moment he met you. I'm certain of that."

My heart fluttered as I hoped his words were true. He continued, "Understand it from his side, Jimin. He's two years younger than us. We were young when we all first met, but he was only fifteen! Do you remember us at fifteen? You hadn't even accepted that you were gay yet either. I told you when you first told me about Jungkook to just be patient and he would come around. I'm glad you took my advice because I'd hate to have seen you both heartbroken when you clearly are meant to be together."

My eyebrow raised in question. "You think we're meant to be together?"

Tae nodded. "Yeah, I've never seen two people more alike in all my life. Even the parts of you that aren't exactly the same compliment each other. It's like you were made for each other."

Flustered, I bowed my head to hide my blush. "Tae, you're the best friend I've ever had. When you find a girl you like, I hope I can be half as good of a friend to you as you are to me."

He chuckled and replied, "Yeah, I'm pretty much the greatest."

I smacked his arm hard as he smiled with an exaggerated smug expression plastered across his handsome face. We burst into fits of giggles and squeals as we continued to celebrate my new relationship status. I would only trust Tae for now. He could keep our secret safe.

Tae urged me to tell him more. "Well, tell me about the kiss! How was it? Tell me all about it!"

I took a deep breath before launching into every tiny detail for him. Tae really was the best friend a guy could have.
