The Twist of Time

Hannah was still contemplating about the time she spent with Jack. She can't take him away from her thoughts. Everything that happened was still playing in her memory. She thought about how pleasant it would be to have Jack come over whenever he's free. But where is he? It's been a week since they both saw each other in her flat. He's nowhere.

Gon hurriedly got ready after Hannah called him. He's excited to see her after few days since the last time they were together. Hannah wanted to see him and end everything with him. She can't bear it anymore. She didn't want to betray Gon.

She saw Gon coming while she's seated at the bus stop.

"Where do you want to go?" Gon let Hannah decide after Hannah settled in the passenger's seat.

"There's a shop down the nearby corner. I want you to try their beef soup. It's delicious."

Hannah was scared of the possible outcome when she's going to breakup with Gon. She didn't really want to hurt him but she also didn't want to betray him and hurt him more.

After having dinner, they went for a walk at a nearby park.

"I'm going to visit my aunt in San Francisco next week and I want you to meet her." Gon invited Hannah to go with him on a trip to his Aunt.

"Gon. I'm sorry that I can't go with you to this trip."

"Why what's wrong?"

"Gon, I'm really really sorry for this. I'm ending this up with you. This is all my fault. You did nothing wrong."

"Then why? Were you not happy being with me? Was I lacking in any way? Hannah, please let me make up."

"No, it's not your fault. I'm so sorry Gon. Will you forgive me?"

"Why was it? You like someone else?"

"Yeah."

"Jack?"

"Yeah."

Hannah was already crying. "Gon, I don't know how to explain. But please, will you forgive me?"

"You liked him for a long time already, didn't you?"

Hannah nodded while her head was low. She couldn't look straight at Gon's eyes.

"Did Jack know about this? Did you tell him you liked him?"

"No. Gon. I can't lie to my own feelings. I thought it would just disappear when he had Faye and I have you. But Gon, I can't keep on doing this to you. It would hurt us both if we continue this. You've always been a blessing to me Gon. A precious blessing. But it would be too unfair for you. I can't do this anymore."

"I knew this time will come, Hannah. I can see it in your eyes that you liked Jack so much and I sensed you've been wanting to break up with me. Well, what else can I do? Seems like I'll be back to being single again."

Hannah hugged Gon. She didn't want to lose him forever.

"I wish you'd still be my friend like before? I don't wanna lose you forever, Gon. Thank you for making me feel important. Thanks for everything." Tears fell from her eyes.

He looked down at her, wiped the tears on her face with his finger. "Why are you crying? Don't worry about me. I'll still be your friend. You can call me anytime if you need me. I'd still love you my honey."

They look at each others teary eyes. Gon slowly lowered his face so that he can reach her lips. He kissed her one last time and hugged her very very tight.

"Thank you for the time we spent together. I'd keep them sealed in my memory. I'm better off now." Gon said and walked away.

Hannah still can't believe what she's done to Gon. She loved him and don't wanna hurt him. But now she's just lost a precious boyfriend just because of Jack. She cried more tears as she watched Gon slowly disappear from her sight.
