A year after Hannah graduated college, she moved to South Korea to find her future there. She was completely hopeless about Jack so she decided maybe it was best for her to move somewhere new so she can start a new life without Jack. Though she had lost him for 5 years already since she entered college, her inner self still longed for him. This time, she wanted to tell herself not to wait for him anymore.
In South Korea, Hannah thought she had completely let go of him but everyday she sees him in her thoughts, on the bus, at the bus stop, train stations, in malls, the bookstore, everywhere. She missed him during the day and she dreamt of him in the night. It was a total torture for her.
One day while Hannah was going to work, she saw a familiar figure walking ahead of her. It exactly looked like Jack from the back. She thought Jack came to South Korea for her but it was only her imagination.
One night she dreamed that Jack came knocking on her door and she was so happy that finally Jack was back. She cried tears of joy till she woke up from her sob.
Meanwhile, Jack had been working in the military and was assigned from place to place. He hardly had free time and when he does he tried to search for his lost Hannah. He heard she's out of the country but not sure which country exactly. How could he reach her? His pride prevented him from going to Hannah's home to ask for her contact from her parents. He knew it was his fault that he lost communications with her.
Jack was hoping Hannah would come home soon but Hannah on the other hand tried not to come home because she wasn't sure she was still someone Jack has in his heart. She wasn't sure she's still someone Jack wanted to make a family with. Maybe he's dating someone else already.
After living in South Korea for a year, Hannah heard from her cousin Shaun that Jack has already got married. It was painful but at least she can now have peace of mind. At least she can now conclude that Jack wasn't searching or waiting for her anymore. At least she can now end her agony. Put an end to her long time misery.
It took Hannah a few months to totally get over Jack's marriage. It took her a few months to finally put a full stop to her love for Jack, now that he already married someone else.
It was painful for her to accept that Jack failed to fulfill his promise. That he would make a home with her. That he wanted to come home to her. That he wanted her to be his wife, the mother of his children. That they will make a beautiful home together. Although she went overseas to try to forget Jack but unconsciously, Hannah was holding on to all those thoughs until Jack married someone else. She can't let go of those promises until Jack finally gave up on her. How sad it could be to be waiting for your love only to find out they married someone else. Sad. Really sad.
