Annabeth POV

I left the fountain after a few minutes and walked home. Once I got to our apartment, I changed into more comfortable clothes and started to make some food. Percy came in a few minutes after.

"Are you making food?"

"Yeah." I said quickly.

"I got you a sandwich, why don't you eat that?"

"I don't want to eat that sandwich."

"Have you decided who we're going to tell?"

"No, not yet."

"Annabeth, we have two days."

"Percy stop worrying about me. We'll figure it out."

"Annabeth are you okay?" Percy asked.

"Of course I'm not okay! I'm mad at everyone. I'm mad at Hera, the gods," I grabbed the knife I was using to cut carrots and pointed it at him. "And I'm mad at you too."

"Why are you mad at me?"

"Are you kidding me? Are you actually asking me that question right now?" I asked. "Percy, you agreed to spend thirteen years away from me without even hesitating."

Percy frowned. I went back to cutting carrots aggressively. Percy went into the bathroom for a minute. I heard the water running and nothing else. He came out soon and his face was wet and his eyes were red.

"I don't want to spend all the time away from you Annabeth. Don't think for a second that I would ever want to do that."

"Then why did you agree Percy? The Percy I know would never give up."

"I am the Percy you know!"

"All I want is some hesitance! You have been nothing but neutral the entire time. I have seen no emotion from you!"

"This has been eating me up inside Annabeth! I'm never going to get a life with my daughter! Did you ever think of that? I just can't express emotion right now! That can't be held against me!" Percy yelled.

I stopped. I hadn't thought about that. My eyes filled up with tears. I left the room and went into our bedroom. All was silent for an hour. I looked at a picture of all my friends. Who would we tell? Piper seemed like a bit of an obvious choice. I wanted to tell Grover as well. He had been with us for so long, we owed it to him. Percy stood in the doorway silently. I glanced over at him.

"I'm sorry I yelled." he muttered.

"No, I'm sorry." I said. "I should've thought about your feelings."

Percy kneeled at my chair and held my hands together.

"Thank you." he muttered.

"I'm so scared Percy." I said, my voice breaking.

"I know, I am too."

"I just don't want to take it out on you but no one else understands our situation." I said. "And I want someone to talk to."

"You can talk to me."

"I just want some outside influence. The decision seems so obvious when it's just the two of us but I want to listen to other opinions."

"I understand." he muttered. "And somehow we'll get through it together."

"But how?"

"Annie, we survived two wars, 6 months apart and Tartarus. We can get through everything." he said.

He kissed my hands and I smiled. Somehow, he made the worst situations a little brighter. That was probably the thing I loved most about him. I wouldn't have gotten through anything if it weren't for him.
