Mer's pov:
After Derek walked away tears began to flood my eyes. We had been getting along so well now he can't even look at me. After a few minutes of standing there I felt a tear leave my eye. I walked to an on-call room and broke down. I'm not sure how long I was in there for but I heard someone come in it was Alex. "Mer are you okay what went happened" he asked. "Um um Derek he told me that h- he never wanted to work with me again" I broke out in sobs. Alex didn't say anything and he came over to wear I was sitting and hugged me.
After a few minutes Alex got paged " I'm sorry mer but I have to go" he said. "It's okay." I responded with a fake smile on my face. My shift was finally over but I went to go check on Beth. I saw she was doing really good and there was a high chance she would wake up. I finally went to the residents lounge and remembered what Derek had told me that were gonna celebrate once we get it right. Looks like we are not gonna ever open that champagne I thought to myself while tears threatened to escape. I grabbed my stuff and got out of there as quick as I could. When I got home and I thought about what Derek had said he doesn't wanna be around me I'm gonna make it easier on him I thought. I went online and at flights to Miami I've always wanted to go I thought to myself. I packed all of my favorite things into all the bags that I could find. I wrote a letter to everyone even a short one to Derek.
I went back to the hospital to talk to the cheif I knew Derek wouldn't be there so I wanted to make it as quick as possible. I knocked on the door. "Come in I heard the cheif say." I walked in and paced. "Ahh Dr.Grey what can I do for you," "I need you to write a recommendation to UF Health Shands Hospital." I replied fastly. " excuse me, what the hell meredith why do you want to go to Flordia," he said with a angry voice. I looked this man dead in eyes and said " I can't do it anymore with Derek I need to leave and he doesn't want me here so I need to leave so will you please do this for me." "Meredith you are rambling and I will do this for you."
