Katsuki's POV:

I waited for hours. My eyes tired and soar. My body begging for sleep. But I couldn't sleep. Not knowing if she was okay or not. The anxiety took over.

"For Sage Cullen?", I heard a nurse say. I shot up and rushed to her, "Is she okay?", I asked, my eyes wide. "Her injuries were very critical, but we were able to stabilize her vitals and get control of the internal bleeding", she smiled, "She's going to be just fine", my muscles relaxed, I sighed in relief. "Thank god, can I see her?", I asked.

"She's still asleep, and might be for a while, but yes", she nodded and I followed her down the hall.

Tears welled in my eyes when I saw her asleep on the hospital bed. Bandages all over her body and face. I rushed to her side and held her uninjured hand. "I love you so much", I said, my eyes blurry from all the tears in them. "You're going to be just fine, okay?", I smiled painfully.

Hours passed by, I stayed by her side the whole time. I couldn't sleep, I needed to hear her voice.

I was exhausted. Emotionally and mentally. My eyelids were heavy, begging to be shut. I struggled to keep my eyes open.

My head slowly fell on the bed beside hers. My eyes shut as I started to fall asleep. "K-at-suki", my eyes shot open, "Sage", I started to smile, I held her face and kissed her.

"I love you so much", I said, tears falling down my face, she smiled, "W-what ha-ppen-ed", she said, her voice just above a whisper.

"You were in an accident, but you're going to be okay", I held her hand, she gripped mine weakily.

"I lo-ve... you", she said with low eyes. "I'm so glad you're okay, you scared the shit out of me", I said, "Come on- I-I won't...go out-that...easily", she said with a small smile.

"Damn right", I held her. "Now get some rest", I kissed her forehead, she shut her eyes and smiled. "Okay", she said quietly. My hand stayed in hers as she fell into sleep. I smiled at her resting figure.

I rested my head beside hers and drifted off into sleep, knowing she was okay.

-2 days later-

Sage's POV:

The doctor walked in with Sloane and Katsuki. Katsuki's eyes were watery, puffy and red, his face full of sorrow. Sloane had the same look.

"Cheer up guys, I'm not dead you know", I joked with a small laugh.

"Miss Cullen", I stopped the doctor, "Call me Sage", I said with a smile. "Sage, have you been having nosebleeds, headaches?", the man asked.

"Yeah but it's just the weather, and the headaches are normal", I shrugged my shoulders.

Sloane's eyes were looking to the floor, same with Katsuki's. The doctor sat at the end of my bed.

"Sage, we found a mass on your left lung during surgery", he paused, my face fell. "It's a malignant tumor, stage 4 lung cancer", he looked down then to me, "I'm so sorry".

Tears welled in my eyes, "Wow... that sucks", I said, my voice cracking. "Same one that got my mom", I looked to the side. Sloane started to cry.

I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes before they could fall.

"So how do we fight it", I said with a sad smile. "We can slow the growth with aggressive chemotherapy, and radiation", he started, "But it will take a toll on your body, make you weak, sick...and there's no certainty it will stop it, we can just slow it down", he said.
