Hatred

Everleigh's POV

I thought staying away from boys was hard in general but when said one is an enemy who won't leave you alone, that's way harder.

I and Ashley were super excited as we only had one more class until the end of the day, and also it was Friday so we couldn't be happier. Our last prelim of this year was done and we were over the moon with happiness. The bell then rang and we walked separately to our classes - She had Maths and I had a free period to look around the school for any empty rooms and study there. While walking in a corridor where I know always has an empty room as no one uses it, I suddenly got pulled into a classroom. The lights were off so I couldn't see the person, I could only feel their hands - one on my waist and the other on my mouth - I tried to speak but their hand was preventing me. They had so much power over me and I could do nothing but wait and hope they leave me alone. "Shh, just be quiet and I won't hurt you." I felt tears going down my face knowing if I make one little noise I'm gonna regret it. "OK, I'm gonna take my hand off now." I then nodded and they took their hand off slowly and stepped away from me. I was trying to compose myself, then the room became bright. My eyes were trying to adjust to the sudden change while I looked up and saw my enemy, Jake.

Jake was standing there with his hand still on the light switch. "Why?" I asked wiping the tears from my face, "What do you want from me?" I asked still scared to even take my eyes off him. "Well, I heard you have a free lesson so I wanted to spend it with you." What? Why? I had so many questions and none came out. "Why would I want to spend it with you?" I scoffed at him thinking he was crazy. "Well, we could have fun here, if you know what I mean," he said in a creepy voice while walking closer to me. I started to step away from him, still trying not to take my eyes off. "What? What is it?" he asked like he was clueless about my fear but I said nothing. "Are you afraid of me?" he said as he stopped moving closer and I just nodded.

This was beyond fear of catching feelings, this was fear of being assaulted, "OK, let me get this out." I could tell what he was about to say was that he didn't wanna do anything with me and was just making a joke. "I like you, I wanna hang out with you and more." I was speechless, I didn't know what to say, did he just confess or is he lying? "But if you aren't comfortable with that, it's OK." and with that, he felt the room. "Wait!?" I said making him turn around and look at me. "Are you being serious?!" I asked him, I wasn't interested but no guy has ever liked me so I was shocked. "Deadly serious, I liked you as soon as I saw you. I mean you're gorgeous but when we spoke, when you acted as you hated me, my heart sank but it made me want you more." I couldn't say anything and he looked sad as I didn't respond to his sudden confession and just walked away, this time I let him go.
