I was alone, with Deaton, who's pretty much a stranger.
"Can you help the cat now?"
I asked, I was still worried about the cat.
"Yes, follow me" he instructed. We walked into the back room where the floor was still wet and slippery. "Sit" Deaton instructed again pointing to a table next to the one the cat was on.
I jumped onto the table and looked at the cat, now that I think of it, the cat doesn't look as bad as I originally thought.
"So, what do I need to know?" I asked getting straight to the point.
"As you know now, Scott is a werewolf" I nodded in response. "Werewolves aren't the only supernatural creatures, there's others such as kanimas, which are lizard like creatures." Deaton explained. So that's their bad experience with lizards? "There's a whole book full of the creatures that exist, the bestiary. You should ask Lydia to show it to you" he suggested."How do you become a werewolf?" I asked.
"The bite of an alpha, but only some people survive the bite, if your body accepts it, you become a werewolf but if your body doesn't then you die" Deaton explained. Well let's make sure I don't get bitten then. "or it could run in your family like Derek, he was born this way" he told me."So what are you?" I asked curiously.
"I'm a vet" he gestured to the cat that he was now stitching up. "Is there a sink where I could wash my hands?" I asked looking at my bloodied hands.Deaton didn't look up from the cat but still said, " it's over there to the right" he pointed to the corner of the room.
I walked over and scrubbed all the blood off my hands.
"Is this your cat?" Deaton asks once I walk back over to him.
"No I found him out side my house" "he must be a stray then, I'll keep him here for a couple of days to make sure no infection occurs." Deaton told me."Is there anything else I need to know?" I asked.
"Werewolves have trouble controlling themselves on full moons so be careful. and I have a question for you clara" Deaton said.
"Ask away" I replied.
"Scott told me about these 'feelings' you get, what kind of feelings are they?" He questioned and for a second I thought he was talking about Isaac and I was about to go crazy but I realised what he meant."Sometimes I just get a feeling that something is going to happen, usually something bad." I explained.
"I see. Can you give me an example?" He asked.
"Um when I went to heathers party with Scott and stiles I had a feeling something bad was going to happen and then heather went missing" I stated.Deaton reply but nodded in response.
"Well I need to get the car home, so I better go" I said gesturing to the door.
"Yes let me get you something first" Deaton said before disappearing into a side room. When he walked back in, he handed me a little cloth bag thing. Before I could question what it was, he explained for me, "it's mountain ash, it creates a magical barrier that no werewolf can pass through, just throw it around you."
I nodded and thank him."Well thanks for helping the cat and explain everything to me" I said as I left.
"Don't worry about it, and be careful Clara" he said as I left the vet and headed to my car.-
When I got home, my mom was asleep as usual. I tiptoed up to my room like I always do and laid on my bed. After about an hour, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep With everything going through my mind, so I decided to take a walk.
I put my boots back in and grabbed my keys. I headed towards the woods that weren't to far from my house. I always used to love the woods when I was younger, they were so peaceful.
Once I reached the woods I didn't hesitate to enter despite the darkness and i started walking deeper through the trees. It was peaceful for a while...
