"Hell is empty and all devils are here."- WS

Sanem

"We meet again, my lovely little flower."

Fabri bared his fangs in a hideous parody of a smile. "I received your message," his smile broadened and I instinctively recoiled.

"But I believe that it is always best to be on the offensive and that tactic has served me well over the centuries so here I am," he let out a delighted laugh and spread his arms wide like a showman.

I raised my hands.

"No, no," he said in a soft chiding tone. "None of that now," I ignored him and the trees began to bend their branches but before they could touch him, my quarry casually flicked his hands. He released power that draped over me like a heavy wet blanket. It obliterated everything within me, even the shadows.

I felt abruptly empty, lethargic, and drained of every ounce of power I possessed. Seeing a chance to capture his prey, Emre's wolf howled and lunged towards me as I fell to my knees, my body losing all strength. Without taking his eyes off me, Fabri moved like a blur and with one mighty strike knocked the wolf into the trees.

"Stay out of this. This is between me and baby alpha's pretty little toy," he admonished him but the wolf lay still. At that moment, I recalled Yigit's ability but that had been a triviality compared to this. It felt as if the very atmosphere had been leached away. There was not enough air and I tossed and gasped like a fish out of water. I dimly realized that Fabri didn't need proximity to his victims and he didn't need to pierce my skin with his fangs to drain me of blood.

Siphon, the word drifted down the bond. He's a Siphon and he doesn't need just blood to survive, he sucks the life force out of his victims.

Suddenly he was on top of me, his sickly sweet breath washing over my face. There was a vivid flicker of light before I heard a strangled yelp, and Fabri was gone.

"Must be some kind of protective amulet. Probably spelled to protect against vampires, " I heard the woman say.

"This is not an amulet, Aylin" Fabri snapped. "It's a moonstone."

"I thought those were myths," she said.

"That's what they want us to believe. But I've learned a lot recently about the supposed myths of our secretive furry friends."

My head lolled feebly. I glanced around and I was immediately filled with trepidation when I saw that the witch was casting spells. In a flash, we were no longer in the forest. I must have lost consciousness for a time after that. My eyes snapped open the moment the bond sent a jolt of energy through me and brought me back to life.

"There's my sweet little flower. I've been looking forward to this moment. Savoring it. You've been a naughty little thing," he crooned.

He leaned over me, careful not to touch me. He glanced at the glowing moonstone but he carefully avoided it.

"Ah, I see my wolf friend spoke the truth. The pup has declared himself and given you a worthless rock," he laughed.

"Not so worthless. You can't touch me," I managed to whisper defiantly.

"I would drape you in diamonds and silks, my beauty," he said in a teasing way. I tried not to gag at the flirty tone in his voice.

"What do you want with me? Why have you been so fixated on me?"

"Alas, your intended has been quite the thorn in my side. Killing Yigit?" He sighed his disappointment. "He must pay for that."

"He didn't do it. I did and I'm not sorry," I gasped. I couldn't draw in enough air again. Suddenly my body convulsed and the witch whispered something to him but I couldn't hear over the roaring in my ears.
