There happened to be many things that Iskra Romanoff-Hill had a true dislike for, and walking through the streets of New York City had to be one of those things, always so many people, people in general were on her list of dislikes.

"I'm gonna be late thanks to you." Kate said as they walked across one of the many crosswalks, "You're gonna be alive because of me." Clint replied dryly. "Oh, Being a gentleman walking on the outside. Nice." Kate said, "No, no. It's just so I can hear you, and to be clear, it's not because I want to, just cause I need to." he said motioning to his ear, "Yeah that's the funny thing about being deaf in one ear, it's actually easier to have a conversation from a bit further away then in close quarters." Iskra noted, "I've learned that the hard way in many instances." She noted with a groan trying not to think of the many bad experiences she had.

"Oh. What happened?" Kate asked although Iskra wasn't entirely sure who the question was directed at. "Uh... too hard to tell," Clint said, "I lost mine when I was little, the doctors weren't totally sure of the cause, I don't know much about my biological parents, it could be genetic." Iskra shrugged, Kate nodded.

"Mommy, mommy, it's a superhero." a little boy said before running past the three, there was someone dressed up as Antman, (boy would Scott love that) and someone like Katniss, (who was always one of Iskra's favorite book characters), "Hey look, that one's you." Kate said, "Nope, that one is Katniss Everdeen. Let's go." Clint replied, but they were stopped midstep when a little girl tugged on Iskra's sleeve, "Can you take a picture with me?" she asked cutely, "Sure." Iskra replied, she posed with the little girl doing the "Magic Hands" as the child had called it.

"Alright, now we can go." Iskra said standing up, the three started to walk again, "Your problem is branding." Kate stated, Iskra laughed a little, "No. My problem is you." he said back, "And this ninja suit, and people trying to kill you cause of it." he continued, "The whole thing is a problem that I am going to solve today. So I can go home to my family." he finished, Kate shrugged, "No. It's branding." she said dryly.

They continued their walk, "Your whole thing is that you're low key, and that's a very hard brand to sell." Kate stated, and Clint rolled his eyes, "Well I'm not really trying to sell anything." Kate nodded, "Which should technically make you cooler, but with all the scary stuff that's happened since the Avengers appeared, people don't want the cynical cool thing anymore. They want sincerity." she spoke, "Is that right?" Clint asked sarcastically, "Not self-seriousness, but heart-on-your-sleeve sincerity." She added, "I see." he said, "You are very contained, you keep your cards close to your vest-" Kate started, "That vest better have a lot of pockets." Iskra said more to herself, "Which you wear over a suit of armor, and like sixteen other layers of self-protection. All of which under is finally your heart. So not exactly your sleeve." She finished.

"Again. I'm not really trying to sell anything." Clint dismissed her comment, "But you do anyway." The brunette sighed, "Yeah ok, Kate. Um, what am I selling then, huh?" Clint asked, "It's certainly not Halloween costumes or toys off the shelf." Kate turned to look at him stopping in the middle of the sidewalk, "Inspiration Clint." he just stared at her for a moment, "She's right you know, without you and Mama, I wouldn't be here like this today." Iskra added.

"The office is here, shall we meet at the Safehouse after work?" Kate asked Clint, "Uh-" he started, "You know, if all goes as planned today, Kate. This is probably going to be the last time we see each other." kate looked slightly disappointed, "But all of you taught me is how to lose a tail, and I almost already knew that." she said, "Here, put your phone number in here, for emergencies only." he said putting emphasis on the only. "Just go inside, stay safe." he added, "and you stay out of trouble, Maria will kill me if I let anything happen to you," he said to Iskra, who just nodded. "Emergencies only or I will block and delete you," he added.

"Um, this is goodbye." Clint said, "Okay." Kate said, "Great. Merry Christmas." Clint finished turning around, "Ok cool. Call you later." Kate added, "No, please don't." Clint finished.

"Come on, I don't want to be any later than I am," Kate stated grabbing Iskra's arm and dragging her along. The pair got in the elevator along with a bunch of people, that neither of them really knew, Kate dropped her coat, and bag, "Stay here." she briefly told Iskra, "Be back in a sec, D." she told the lady standing at the desk, "Kate, don't just leave me-" Iskra sighed, "And she's already gone." Iskra stood there for a second, "дерьмо." she cursed under her breath, "I'm not supposed to leave her alone." she said to herself following closely after the brunette.

One very awkward conversation later, Iskra had walked out of that room, alongside Kate, with deep suspisons of the man named jack, and an kind of undercover mission for later that night.
