"The clones are in position as are the Drallians. I think the fur balls will definitely put up a fight like they always have." Said Dan kneeling behind a metallic crate. The secret entrance on this side of the facility was not easily spotted or accessible, and Dan had made sure he kept it that way. He had set several empty crates to block off the entrance and had also set a few more to provide himself, and the others cover during the imminent assault. He knew the droids had a lot of firepower, but he had confidence in his defenses.
The large hill the droids would be marching over would leave them exposed between two massive boulders. This would make them easy targets. Dan had really looked at the geography for assistance and it looked to be in his favor. The downhill would be suicide for the slow and highly agile battle droids, but if they reached the bottom even Dan knew it would definitely be devastating.
Over forty clones formed a line in front of him. All around them hidden burrows covered what remained of the Drallian warriors still willing to fight for their homes.
Sitting next to him Lena checked her weapon making sure it was operable. "Looks like this farm just became a military base. I'm just glad we have these troops to help us out. I feel they're all going to die not knowing the outcome of this battle." She said staring blankly at her blaster rifle.
"Don't worry Lena as long as we have someone fighting with us I'm sure we can prevail."
"I guess one of us has to be optimistic about all of this." She replied. Sitting up to look over the crate she finally saw the enemy slowly creeping over the horizon. "Alright Gwen we have the droids in sight!"
"Very well attack when ready." Gwen's voice ordered through the comlink.
"Here we go. All troops open fire!" Lena yelled.
Immediately the clones began firing up towards the droid force coming down the hill. The first line of droids went down almost instantly, but another line quickly moved up to replace them. Dan took several shots just to provide extra cover for the clones. From behind the battle droids a pair of AAT's slowly crept up. Looking at his arsenal Dan knew he had only one shot at taking the tanks down. He had never come across an AAT but all the stories he heard during his trips to Nar Shaddaa were never pretty.
"Alright Drallians it's your time to shine. Show these clankers whose home this is!"
The Drallians rose from beneath the ground and began charging the droid army. Many were shot down before reaching the droids, but the charge had caught the droids by surprise. Still primitive in nature they made a mess of things. The AAT's had become their primary targets.
"Alright clones the Drallians are holding them in place. Start moving up and use the crates I've set as cover." Dan ordered the clones.
As the clones moved from their positions a loud whine came from above.
"Lookout!" Lena yelled but it was too late. The large explosions sent dozens of clones flying through the air lifeless.
"Towers one, and two get those fighters now before they come for another pass." Lena said surveying the damage that had been dealt. The line of clones had been broken. Now the white armored soldiers were scattered trying hard to gather themselves.
The towers did exactly as they were told. The vulture droids stood little chance against the heavily armed and protected towers. The explosions above confirmed the fighters had been destroyed before they could cause further damage.
