Yunhee gasped pretending to be surprised while returning the kiss, "What If someone sees us?". As the elevator soon landed on the awaited floor, they both pulled away from eachother, licking off eachother's lipstick that mismatched their lip color. "Meet me later", Seojin anticipated before getting off the elevator. "What?.. When's later?", Yunhee asked, as Seojin looked at her before walking off, "I'll text you".
"Does she even have my number?" Yunhee prompted herself, confused.The following day, Yunhee checked her phone, hoping Seojin would stick to her word, as she was anxious to see her again.
"After work, Sunset Cafe"
This seemed to be a popular meet up place, considering it was a newly opened place right next to the Hera Palace, not far from the school grounds either.
Yunhee let a small smile escape her mind as she checked her messages: probably the 10th time that morning. "Mom, what are you smirking so hard at?", Rona asked, about to head out the door. "Oh.. nothing", Yunhee quickly replied to shake off any lingering suspicion. Seojin, who was busy with work, couldn't focus as she longed for the time she would meet Yunhee once again.
4:30 PM~
The time finally arrived after it had felt like forever and Seojin had already packed up her things and gotten ready to leave the school. Yunhee arrived at the Cafe at around the same time as Seojin. "Over here!", Seojin shouted, unaware of how projected her voice was. "Shh!" Yunhee voiced back. "Do you want people to see us?", she added. "This place is brand new, not many people know about it", Seojin told her, completely ignoring the long line at the cashier. "Ha-Ha, very funny", Yunhee looked at her, unimpressed with a stirn face. As they went to find a seat, Seojin noticed the two familiar students that attended her school. "Seokhoon... ? Rona?", She quietly asked herself. "What are you babbling about?", Yunhee seemed confused. "There-", Seojin didn't have time to finish as Yunhee leaned over furiously. "Rona!-", Yunhee shouted out, barely being able to be heard as Seojin rushed her palm over her lips. "Are you crazy? Do you want them to see us here together?", Seojin asked her, as she pulled her to the table furthest from the two particular people. "We can talk here, they won't notice us", Seojin assured the other woman.
Eunbyeol and Seokkyung envied the others, as they had something to do. They scurried home together from school as all their other friends went on to do "whatever".
"Eunbyeol~ah, aren't you mad over Seokhoon?", Seokkyung asked, curiously.
Eunbyeol stared at her face as if it was a blank canvas, "No.. Why would I?". Seokkyung returned the glare, "He probably went to ask her to the dance, if things went right, they're probably all over eachother by now". Eunbyeol smiled, trying to hold in her laughter, "What makes you think I like Seokhoon?". "You always touch up to him, and get jealous.. you know?", Seokkyung replied, trying to back up her claim with evidence. Eunbyeol broke the firm look on her face with a sudden laughter. "Touch up to him? Jealous?" Eunbyeol remarks, sarcastic. Seokkyung unattentively leaned closer to Eunbyeol and they continued walking home."I'm sorry", Seojin got on her knees in front of Yunhee after she brought drinks to their table. "What are you doing? Get up right now" Yunhee whispered as she grabbed her sleeve, bringing her up. "I'm really sorry for everything, I didn't mean it", Seojin added, almost tearing up. Yunhee sat next to her, concerned and clueless.
++FLASHBACK++
"Yah Oh Yunhee!", Seojin shouted as Yunhee dragged her by the bow on her dress. "Say it! Say you lost fair and square!", Yunhee projected. Seojin groaned and held the trophy tighter than her own will to live. Landing her hands on the trophy, Yunhee made a sharp attempt to sneak the trophy out of her hands, but failed. Following the loud thrust as the door behind them shut, Yunhee locked it, holding Seojin back. Carelessly, without thought, Seojin balanced the trophy between her fist and charged at Yunhee's neck, as blood thrashed on the ground, creating stains of red flecks.Seojin's father rushed through after finally unlocking the door, hurrying Seojin to the Emergency room. "Dad wait! What about Yunhee? You can't just leave her there!", She cried out too late, as they perished yards from the room the incident had took place in. "When will you learn to not care for those little poor pests?! They just want our money, nothing else!" Seojin's father angrily expressed. Seojin couldn't help but feel deep sorrow reflecting on her sudden act towards Yunhee. After hearing she'd lost her operatic voice as a soprano for good, she couldn't bare to forgive herself.
"I like Yunhee! Moreover as a friend, but someone who I can rely on.", Seojin exclaims still laying on the cold hospital bed, begging to be just once accepted by her father, who only sees her as a hopeless cheater who can never win. "I do all these things, bribe people with my hard earned money, and raise you beside the best of the best tutors and this is how you repay me? Snap out of it!" Her father yelled at her, coldly. "You forced me to be overly cruel to everyone around me hoping it'll make me stronger, but look at what you've done", Seojin attempted confronting her abusive father. Quickly enough, He smacked his hand across her face and turned away, embarrassed for his own daughter.
PRESENT TIME
As Seokhoon had went to throw away his and Rona's cups, he carefully observed everyone's appearances at the Cafe. Soon enough his eyes came to notice a spark if similarity. After moments of realization, he hurried over to Rona. "You didn't tell me your mom was going to be here!" He whispered in her ear, gently leaning over. "What? My mom? She said she was going out shopping? You must've seen wrong. Rona looked over as she hid behind the tall slope covering her table, "Who is that next to her?". Rona stood up fully, unaware of her figure standing out. "Ms. Cheon?" Rona gasped in blank confusion. Seokhoon held her hand and calmly walked her out to avoid any unnecessary circumstances. Walking her through an isle across the street which flowed in the winter's charmful afternoon mist, he soon turned to a complete stop, pulling out an elegant black box, hoping this would be a better place. Opening it was like a walk through the tunnel to heaven, bright and magnificent. "Will you go to the dance with me?", Seokhoon asked, looking into her big eyes that resembled the hearth of the necklace.
