They both rapidly stood up off the couch and stared at Rona, pretending to have talked about business matters. "Rona, why aren't you at school?" Yunhee questioned slowly seperating herself from Seojin's bubble. "School ended early, you know that" Rona reminded her. "Why is Ms. Cheon here?", she asked, after they've let go of eachothers hands. "Oh we had a business matter to discuss", Seojin told her. "Business~", Rona whispered to herself as she walked off, suspecting alot more than 'business' judging from how sincere the hand hold was.
Jenny had invited all the Hera kids to the community room to play board games. They all decided to come, as they had nothing better to do. They played a few rounds of Jenga, Monopoly, and cards. Rona, overflowing her mind with unbearable thoughts, followed Seokkyung home, telling her she wanted to talk about something."What If they.." Rona told her about her assumptions about Seojin and her mother as soon as they settled in Seokkyung's room. Seokkyung, and probably the entire school by now, know about the rumors between them and their past. Seeing Rona almost break down, Seokkyung sat closer to her and comforted her, patting her back. "Just think about how your mom feels around Ms. Cheon. Is she happy?", Seokkyung asked Rona, diligently. Rona thought about it hard, and realized it may not be so much of a bad thing if it positively impacts her mom. Maybe she was overthinking?
The night before the dance
Seokkyung stopped Eunbyeol as they were walking from school and took her to a restaurant not far. While Eunbyeol was cutting her lasagna, Seokkyung thought it was the best time to plot the main idea, "Let's go to the dance together? Your not going with anyone are you?". "Well no..." Eunbyeol softly answered, stunned. "Then it's a done deal!", Seokkyung told her as she offered to seal their guarantee to go together with a pinky promise.
The day of the dance
Seokhoon and Rona made plans to ditch school to go kayaking together, while the others went to the dance. Passing Seojin in the hallway, Seokkyung was reminded of the talk she had with Rona. "What would Eunbyeol think about it? Should I tell her? ... it hasn't been confirmed yet", she spoke to herself, crowding her mind with questions. She let her thoughts slide into a pool of unarranged ideas and continued walking. Everyone met up in the gym, where the dance was held. They all had fun as they ate snacks and played some games. Eunbyeol got up hoping to take of sip of the fruit punch they had, but instead she backed away after accidently spilling it on herself. "Are you okay?", Seokkyung hurried to her, covering her with her thin sweater to cover a few of the many fruit punch stains on her dress. Seokkyung took her outside and called a cab to pick her up. Eunbyeol still had time to leave the party and come back after changing. Seokkyung cleaned up the small mess on the drink table as Eunbyeol hurried to go get dressed.
It was her only dress suitable for a school dance, so she had to take a visit to her mother's closet. "How can I not find any good dresses-", Eunbyeol told herself, before taking a long pause. She leaned closer to take a look at one of the dresses that seemed to have a pink-ish smudge on them. As she observed it clearly, she noticed it was a lipstick mark. "Pfft, How did she not notice she rubbed her lipstick off on her dress, this one's one of her favorites", she chuckled to herself, until she realized, her mom doesn't wear pink lipstick. As seokhoon and Rona were kayaking, they found a small kitten in the woods, that looked tired and sick. Rona convinced Seokhoon to be able to keep it company until its mother, or someone, came looking for it. Upon waiting at least 2 and half hours, with the kitten almost freezing to death at that point, Rona decided to take it with her, not being able to watch it suffer.
Seokkyung decided to call Eunbyeol, wondering what was taking her so long. "Hello?", Seokkyung anxiously to her phone, as Eunbyeol wouldn't pick up. After 20 more minutes had passed, Seokkyung started feeling more and more worried. She decided to forget about the party and check to make sure Eunbyeol is okay.
Seokkyung head over to the Hera Palace and continuously knocked on their door, full of anxiety. With no answer, Seokkyung used her hairpin to break open the lock. She ran to Eunbyeols room and opened the door. "Eunbyeol~ah!", She yelled, after seeing her crying and hugging her knees in the corner of the room. Seokkyung hurried to hug and comfort her as she sat her up on the bed, driving her away from the cold, hard floor. "What's going on?" Seokkyung asked, laying her palm on her forehead, checking if she has a fever. "You're not sick, are you?", Seokkyung added. Eunbyeol took a couple of seconds to recollect her consciousness. "I think my mom's dating someone, and it's not my dad", Eunbyeol told her. "What do you mean it's not your dad?", Seokkyung replied. "Look", Eunbyeol told her, showing her the dress. Seokkyung immediately recognized the pink lipstick as it's the one Rona's mother was wearing a few days ago. They both sat still, thinking deeply.
Seojin finally got home after working. The sound of the door opening scared both girls to complete consciousness. After hiding the dress, Seokkyung quickly sat in Eunbyeols desk and pretended that she was helping her study. Seojin walked in, thinking nothing of it. Eunbyeol followed her out, afraid of hiding her feelings. "Mom! Wait!", Eunbyeol ran up towards her holding the dress, "I want you to tell me what this is".
