Joo Dan Tae quickly drove off after hearing the police sirens. Yunhee sprinted towards Seojin, drowning her eyes in tears. As the police arrived, an ambulance followed. The paramedics took the unconscious woman out of Yunhee's trembling arms and gently placed her in the large vehicle.
Rona, who still seemed to wait for her mom to come home before falling asleep, had a strange feeling. Her mother wasn't the type to stay out all night without alerting her daughter beforehand. Out of her worry, Rona told Seokkyung about the situation before finding out Eunbyeol's mother had also not come home yet.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Seojin was immediately brought into urgent surgery as her side had been pierced from a glass blade which was presumed to have been lying on the scene of the incident. Despite her second thoughts, Yunhee called Eunbyeol to explain the situation
The 3 girls sat in Seokkyung's room, deliberately concerned, before noticing Eunbyeol's phone ring. She hurried to pick up the call, hoping it was her mother. After a few seconds of complete silence, she dropped her phone. Her eyes turned puffy with a lump stuck I the back of her throat. She lost sense of sound, but regardless still ran to the door. Seokkyung and Rona were both in shock of her subtle reaction and questioned what was wrong, but there was no answer. Eunbyeol rushed outside and got in the nearest taxi; Rona and Seokkyung followed.
As the 3 girls got to the hospital, they looked around and noticed Yunhee sitting, clutching her teeth in despair. "Mom! What's going on? What happened?", Rona was quick to comfort her mother. One of the surgeons walked out, "The patient came with a great amount of severe fractures near her pelvis and ribcage, so it'll be hard to expect a full recovery. We'll know more about her state of we'll being once she regains consciousness". Seokkyung and Rona both comforted Eunbyeol, who was put on the verge of tears. "Oh and we found this in the patient's pocket, I wanted to make sure to give it to their gaurdian", he said holding out a dirty necklace that seemed alot like Yunhee's.
Yunhee, who was still out of it, grabbed the necklace and placed it in her pocket, not being able to observe it through her teary eyes. Eunbyeol fainted after battling her inner emotions and was immediately brought home by Rona and Seokkyung.Eunbyeol woke up the next day with a faint memory. Seokkyung's mother heard about what had happened, so she took Eunbyeol in to the penthouse and fed her a meal.
2 days have passed and Yunhee hasn't left the hospital, knowing with her heart Seojin could wake up in any moment. Taking off her coat, she suddenly remembered the necklace which the doctor had passed onto her. Pulling it out and dusting it off, she takes a closer look at it. "This..., Why is it here?", she asked herself confused. She then flipped the key over reading, "Y.H.O", which confirmed it belonged to her. Still confused as to how Seojin came in possession this, she sat in a deep trail of thought, which led her back to the same old ideas. "Mom, I can stay with Ms. Cheon for a little bit, so please go home. It's been 2 days". Yunhee looked up at her daughter, with a set of droopy eyes. Rona glared back at her with shattered pupils. Yunhee ignored her request and held Seojin's hand even tighter.
Another day passed and Seojin's condition still hasn't improved. The doctor noted that Seojin was paralyzed from waist down due to one of her bones rubbing against her spine from the fracture. This also caused her lungs to swell which made it hard for the brain to recieve enough oxygen. This meant it was necessary to preform a risky surgery to remove the bone, without rupturing the lung or damaging the spinal cord.
DAY BEFORE THE SURGERY
An unfamiliar doctor walked into the room holding a syringe that was supposedly filled with medicine to relieve the muscles surrounding the spine. He quickly filled Seojin's IV bag with the fluid and left.
