We break apart from our kiss, and start to head home. We entwine our fingers and walk, as a normal couple. These games are over, no more pretending. We're not the "star crossed lovers from district 12" anymore. We're just simply Katniss and Peeta. And it couldn't have been more perfect.
"K-Katniss?" Peeta stutters.
"Hmm?" I turn around to look at him straight into his eyes.
"To make it official.. Do you want to be my girlfriend? I love you so much, Katniss. I can't imagine my life without you, b-but if you don't want to.. If you want t-to take it slow i-" he rambles but I cut him off.
"I would love to Peeta, I love you." I whisper, my fingers trace the pattern of his lips. But I remove my fingers from his pink, plumb lips and lean in to kiss them so delicately. I warm my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. His lips react, which I have been craving. His tongue slips into my mouth, making me gasp. Soon we break apart for the lack of air.
He smiles as we walk back to his house in comfortable silence.
