I was still shocked about everything that had happened with Damian and I. Well, it wasn't much but it was still a huge thing. Firstly, we kissed. Secondly, I'm pretty sure he admitted to liking me. Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered, but it's him. Damian. Damian is a player so how can I trust a word out of his mouth? It was pretty much impossible to trust anything out of his mouth!
Jake was busy packing a few things since he was leaving tomorrow morning. I had offered to go with, Damian included, even though it was super early in the morning. I wasn't not going to see my brother off. He was packing now because he had a shift later on. He had been lucky that they had given him a week off because I'm pretty sure he would've just called in sick if they didn't allow him. It would be pretty suspicious though.
Damian was working and I was so grateful for that! Another wonderful thing? My shift started just before his finished. It would mean we wouldn't exactly have to cross paths. I was happy we were getting along fine but then what he said kept playing on my mind. Hell, even our kiss kept playing on my mind. The thing I hated the most was the fact I enjoyed kissing him. I hated that feeling because I shouldn't be feeling it.
Damian and I were just not two people that could be couples. Jake would hit the roof and then it would mean rocky relationships between Damian and Jake. It could also possibly mean a rocky relationship between Jake and I. How could Damian possibly like me after a couple of months? I didn't understand.
"Kylie, seriously, what's going on with you?" Jake asks, suddenly appearing right in front of me. "It's like something is wrong. Have you got a problem? Do you want to talk to me about it?" Never, never in a million years would I talk to him about guy problems. The first thing he would do is jump straight into beating the guy up.
"I'm honestly fine. I've just got a lot on my mind but I'm good, don't worry about me. You've got enough on your plate as it is. Have you figured what you're going to say to her? Surely you have," I ask. Thankfully my efforts of steering the conversation away from me had worked because he started talking about all sorts of things that he was going to say and do. I loved him and I was genuinely curious, but I just couldn't find myself listening to him.
Damian. He kept invading my mind and I was beginning to hate this. Why is he constantly in my mind now? Why can't I get rid of him?
"Do you think that's a good idea?" Jake asks. Alarm bells rung in my mind as I hadn't even been listening to him and now he's asking me a question. I'm sure I can wing it, right? All I have to do is say yes because I'm sure whatever he said was a good idea, hopefully.
"Yeah, I think that's a great idea. You'll surely win her back!" I study his expression to my response and inside me, I sighed with relief. He seemed satisfied with my response and I was satisfied he bought it. I do feel bad for not listening but I sort of have other things on my mind. Jake jumped off the couch and went back in his room, probably to pack.
I decided to leave for work early because I was getting bored at home and I felt like I was being suffocated in there. I called to Jake and told him I was leaving for work. Without waiting for a reply, I slammed the door shut by accident and headed to work. I walked there because it was more calming and I needed the fresh air. I don't think I could've been stuck in a car with Jake because I know he would eventually start asking me questions again. I didn't need that.
As I was walking, I spotted Damian. My heart stopped for a second. I think it stopped longer when I realised he had seen me and that he was walking towards me. In all honesty, I didn't realise that I had already almost made it to work. The walk seemed way too short but I know I've been walking for at least fifteen minutes.
I decided to pretend to not know him and kept walking to work. My efforts were cut short when I heard him call my name. Dammit. I turn around and whack on a smile. "Oh, hey," I said to him when he stood in front of me. "I thought you don't finish until a bit later?"
