The heart surgery had went well from what Eric had told us. Eric was going to start chemo therapy again the next day. I had decided to stay with him at the hospital which to my surprise they let me do. I just couldn't be home alone without my husband there. I just couldn't. "So how do you feel?" I asked, trying not to cry. "Tired, sore, but other than that I'm alright." Eric said with a small groan. I nodded as he took my hand in his. He even showed me the scar from the surgery and I cried when I saw it. "Babe." Eric said as he wiped my tears away. "I'm sorry I can't help it." I sobbed. This had been a rough road for us both. I don't wish this on anybody not even my worst enemy. But in this case........ Cancer was the enemy. Fuck you cancer.

Eric had begged the band to let him be in the video for their new song 'God Gave Rock and Roll to you' but Gene and Paul had told him it wasn't a good idea and that he had to focus on his health and his chemo therapy treatments. But eventually they gave in and decided to let him be in the video shoot. I decided to tag along to watch them shoot the video. Eric though had to wear a wig because he had lost all of his hair from the chemo therapy. It's really sad if you think about it. I sat down in the back of the studio behind all of the cameras and then KISS began their performance:

"God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
Do you know what you want? You don't know for sure
You don't feel right, you can't find a cure
And you're gettin' less than what you're lookin' for

You don't have money or a fancy car
And you're tired of wishin' on a falling star
You gotta put your faith in a loud guitar

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone (oh yeah)
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone

Now listen
If you wanna be a singer, or play guitar
Man, you gotta sweat or you won't get far
Cause it's never too late to work nine-to-five

You can take a stand, or you can compromise
You can work real hard or just fantasize
But you don't start livin' 'till you realize
I gotta tell ya
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul

God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to everyone

God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, saved rock and roll for everyone
Saved rock and roll

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone

God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you put it in the soul
I know life sometimes can get tough and I know life sometimes can be a drag
But people, we have been given a gift, we have been given a road
And that road's name is rock and roll
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you."
