Beyond Blue Eyes

07: Tori

When Jade tells me that she's going to wait for me in the car, I quickly finish doing my hair, grab my coat and put it on, then grab my purse and head out to the car. "Wow, your hair looks amazing, Vicki," Jade comments when I get into the car. "Thanks. I like your black flower pin," I reply. "So, we're ready to go?" She asks, and I nod. She drives us to Nozu, where I nearly slip on some ice on the way to the door. Thankfully, Jade's right there to catch me, which makes me feel good. We finally get inside and order our food before finding somewhere to sit. Jade and I take off our coats at the same, and I can't help but grin when I see Jade's sparkly dark purple fit-and-flair dress. I notice that she's also grinning at me, presumably because of the nearly black form-fitting dress that I'm wearing. "You look gorgeous, babygirl," I say, making her blush. "Thank you, Vicki. You look gorgeous too," she says, making me blush. We sit down and start brainstorming together about both of our graduation projects, and I mentally thank myself for remembering to bring my songwriting notebook with me. Before our food gets here, I've already written a second song, and Jade's already come up with a scene to use my first song in. We continue to work while we eat our dinner, and I'm able to get another song done, while Jade's moved on to writing the script for her short film.

"Do you want to... I don't know... have a sleepover tonight at my place?" She asks me out of the blue when we finish eating. "I... Yeah, I'd love to," I say, holding the door open for her before heading outside myself. This time, I'm much more careful as I walk to Jade's car, with her beside me the entire time just in case I slip again. When we get to her car, she opens the passenger door for me, and I thank her as I get in. "Anything for my favorite woman in the world," she says in response, getting into the car as well. When we get to her house, she introduces me to her mother, who's doing the dishes in the kitchen. Clara West has a very kind smile and laid back aura, and she makes me feel at home. Once we've gotten ready for bed, we continue working on our graduation projects, and I manage to write all five songs that I wanted to write, get them typed up, and send them to André so that he can put together the instrumental parts of the songs. Jade manages to get the script for her short film finished, and now the next step for her is to get a cast together to actually film it. "Can I tell you a kinda funny story?" I ask her when we're finished. "Sure hon," she says, and I start telling her about what happened when I came out as a lesbian to my parents. "The best part of it was when Trina suddenly came down the stairs jabbering about some guy at school. My dad said, "You know, even with you coming out as a lesbian, I think you're still the normal one in the family." That made me and my mom laugh pretty hard," I say, and as if on cue, Jade bursts into a giggling fit. "That's a pretty funny story, sweetie," she says.

"You know, I don't know what I did to deserve such a beautiful, funny, energetic, and kind person like you as my partner," Jade says. "You had my heart right from the start, babygirl," I reply, gently resting my forehead against hers. "Hmm... I kinda like where the night has gone so far, sweetie," she says softly. "Me too, babygirl," I reply, leaning in to kiss her. She returns the kiss and deepens it a bit, falling onto her back, pulling me with her. "This is a bit of an... interesting situation, babygirl," I say somewhat breathlessly. "I agree. There's just one thing that would make it better to me," she says softly. "And that - Aahh!" I exclaim as she suddenly rolls over to be above me. "There we go. Much better," she says. I feel like I'm about to faint or something, and I tell Jade as much. "Sorry sweetie," she says, sitting back up on her bed, helping me do the same. "It's fine. So, what now?" I ask, and Jade smiles at me slyly. "Let's make out a bit, sweetie. I just can't get enough of those Vega kisses," she replies. "I'm definitely interested, babygirl. Come here," I say, pulling her closer to me. "Ooh, I wasn't expecting that from you, sweetie," she says. "I'm full of surprises, babygirl," I reply simply. "So am I, sweetie," she replies, closing the remaining distance between us and capturing my lips with hers. I gently move back until my spine is pressed against the wall, and she moves right along with me. I tangle my fingers in her hair, enjoying the soft, silky feeling of it flowing through my fingers while she does the same thing with my hair. After several minutes that feel like more, we pull apart to breathe. "Dang, girl. That was pretty intense," she says softly. "And I loved every single second of it, babygirl," I reply with a smile. "So did I, sweetie. Wanna do it again?" She asks, and I readily agree. The second time we make out lasts a little longer than the first, and it feels just as good, if not better.

After making out with Jade off and on for about an hour, we decide to get some sleep. I get out my sleeping bag and start getting it set up when Jade asks me what I'm doing. "What does it look like I'm doing, babygirl? I'm setting up my sleeping bag for tonight," I reply, and Jade pouts at me. "What?" I ask her softly. "Well... I guess that I was just kinda hoping... maybe we could share my bed..." she says softly. "Have you gone crazy?" I ask. "I'm not talking about... that... sweetie. I literally just meant that you can sleep in my bed with me if you want to," she says softly, looking sad. "Oh, sorry. Sure, I'll share your bed with you," I reply, and she smiles. We climb into bed and kiss each other good night before falling asleep.

Tori and Jade are a pretty cute couple when I think about it, despite their many respective differences. It kinda brings to mind the song "You Don't Know Me" because it kind of represents their relationship in a way. Bye for now!
