"Diamond! Come on you know we gotta leave! We can't stay here!"

"But wh-"

"Girl, bring your ass on!"

Was all I can remember as I sat in front of my therapist. I was 10 years old when it happened. I'm 22 years old now, My dad is the biggest drug dealer in Atlanta and every night was scary.

"Do you still keep in contact with your father?" My therapist asked, as she placed her pen to her notebook and looked up at me. I shook my head, "Not really. It will be a "Once a blue moon" thing with him." I told her before glancing over at the opened window. She started to jot down what I said.

"Well, it is good that you two still keep in contact with each other. Even, if it is small conversations here and there." she stated.

I slightly rolled my eyes, 'If you think so, lady.' I thought before glancing back over to her.
"What about your mother? Is she still in the picture?" she asked.

I shook my head, "Nah, my mother left me and my father when I was a baby. As I was told, she was a huge junkie and did not want anything to do with me." I stated. For a second, I noticed a hint of sympathy that glazed her eyes, but she instantly brushed it off. She also wrote it down.

"Do you have any siblings?" She asked while still writing. I shrugged, "I don't know. For all I know, I was the only one." she nodded and continued to write.
"Okay. Let's get deeper. If your mom tried to rekindle a relationship with you now. Would you want to?"

For a moment, I froze and stared at her. I never thought about it. I didn't know how to react to the question, because in reality I never thought I would see my mother. I've seen pictures of her but never met her.

"Diamond? You don't have to answer this question if you don't want to."
I nodded and looked at my watch that was on my wrist. It was almost time for the session to end.

"Well, we've made a little bit more progress today. If you need to talk before next Friday, please make sure that you reach out." She stated before standing up. I stood up also. She walked me out the room, then I made my way out of the building out to the parking lot. I walked to my car and got it.

Before I could pull off, my phone ringed. I pulled my phone out of my purse and seen a text message from my Best friend, Kiara .

KiKi💕: Come to my house after your session. I got some tea for you!

I typed back that I was on the way. Before I placed my car in Drive, and took off out the lot.

After a 30 minute drive, I was pulling up into Kiara's complex where she resided in a beautiful 3-story Townhouse , that was 20 minutes away from Lenox Mall. I got out the car and locked my doors, then started my way to her front door. I knocked and rung the doorbell and waited for a brief moment. I heard the door being unlocked, then seen it being pulled open by Kiara. She had her 2 year-old son Cyrus on her hip.

"Hey boo! Come in." she said with a smile on her face. Cyrus eyes lit up as if he was a kid in a candy store when he seen me. He smiled wide and held his arms out towards me.
