06| The Luca Effect
My feet came to a halt just as my heart does everytime I see her. As crazy as it sounds, my day is going to go well now that I've seen her before leaving for work.
There she was in her oversized black tee, sauntering down the stairs while hopping the last two like she always does.
A harsh jerk was felt as the annoying new brother shouldered his way across from me.
"There was plenty of space at the side." I spat.
"Oh I'm sorry. Did I disrupt your reverie of inappropriate positions with my sister?" He said smugly.
Someone please remind me why I'm entertaining him?
The things we do for love!
"Morning Mase." She ambled to the kitchen with sleepy eyes. "Good morning to you too Mr Grayson."
Okay, now what did we do wrong? Her mood was all grumpy and she's woken up before ten minutes. Ten minutes! She got her coffee from the coffee machine and walked out without sparing us a glance.
"Excuse me, kiddo?" Mason said, his hands on his hips.
"What?" She snapped. "I'm giving you some privacy so that you all can freely discuss how much of a trouble I am."
Oh she's still stuck on that.
Mason sighed and turned to me with expectant eyes. "Do you have ice cream in the fridge?"
"Yeah we always keep backup."
Five minutes later, she was seated on the kitchen counter with ice cream in a salad bowl. A normal bowl is too mainstream for her. Besides, it was an indication of the magnitude of us messing up.
We watched her in silence, knowing better than to utter a word when she's like that. Just then, Oliver all dressed in formals barged into the kitchen.
"We need to talk, muffin." He tossed his suitcase on one of the stools.
"It's too early for financial statements." She dismissed it.
"You burned a girl's hair while she was asleep!" He screeched, throwing his hands up.
She what?
She cast him a bored look then the similar one to Mason. "What all did you tell him?"
Oliver extracted a bottle of chilled water, loosening his tie. "You threw toilet water on a guy, smashed a phone with a hammer and fucking vandalized your principal's car!"
No, he's kidding. Mason is messing with him. She isn't that crazy. Nope. Not at all.
"Mhm." She stuffed another spoonful of ice cream. "That baldie suspended me." She said like it's nothing at all.
