67 | Mason v/s Money Talks
A few days later.
The dinner table had never been so silent.
So this new thing happens in the house since the past few days. The stock market determined Vittoria Andress's mood after the closing hours. Currently she was seated across from me, playing with the spaghetti, her face holding a grumpy pout.
No Rafael, you did not find that adorable.
The twins eyed her weirdly, trying hard not to laugh at that depressed face she made. But they didn't. They knew the consequences of annoying an already annoyed Miss Andress.
"How much?" Oliver finally broke the silence while we curious spectators gave her an impatient stare.
With that, I meant everyone but Mason. Nothing can distract him from his food.
"Muffin?" Oliver pressed when he didn't receive a reply.
"One million." She mumbled, entwined the cold turned spaghetti and dropping the fork in her plate.
"You lost one fucking million in one day?" Mason screeched, making everyone cover their ears.
"Mase!" Alli slapped his arm.
An eerily calm grandpa
P stared at her blankly but she didn't meet his eyes. "How did you manage to lose so much? Please explain.""Options." He mumbled, her head hung low.
"Speak clearly, Vittoria." He scolded.
"Options. I took a short position in the IT stocks." She blurted like a kid caught red handed.
"You wha- seriously, Vittoria? I thought we were smart."
"That's what I've been trying to tell you since when. She's dumb." Mason teased her furthermore.
He better have a death wish.
"Your opinion is as useful as the concept of homemade dividends." She banged her fists on the table. I bit my lip to not laugh at her behavior.
"The concept of what?" Camila asked.
"Homemade dividends." She replied. "It's a very useless concept that makes no sense just like this infuriating human."
"I make homemade pasta." Mason scrunched his face.
"No but why would you short the IT put options?" Oliver questioned, feeling like a failed teacher.
"There was a freaking hanging man! Not my fault the market didn't go by the charts." She threw her hands up.
"It's okay, Vittoria. You don't always win a gamble." Camila said, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
