32 | The Maroon Folder
I swear to god if Rafael doesn't empty a gun in Luca's good for nothing head, I will.
Sheer amusement danced in those charcoal eyes, overpowering the annoyance housed in them a few seconds ago. "How much, Luca?" Rafael quizzed, none of us being able to understand the question.
None of us, but Luca.
"Ten million." He stated. "But it's not for the money. Not this time."
Alright, got it. Nikolai offered him ten million to deliver Allegra to him. That sick bastard is too scared to even surface back up. No wonder he can't get her while being underground. Not without Viktor.
"Here's a fresh proposal, Luca." Rafael bent forward intimidatingly, his hands forming a steeple. "Why don't we just pretend you didn't visit my house and I let you leave this place alive?"
Luca, in retaliation simply sat back more leisurely with a confident half smile lingering over his lips which now had a cut. "Hear me out. I promise you'll willingly agree to me by the end of it."
"In that case, be transparent." Toby said.
"Fine, that's fair." He agreed, decievingly quick. "I'll get the money, yes. But-"
"That's all you two rotten men know, Luca— to put a price on women." My anger failed to be trapped within me.
Hell, I should just call Vittoria so that she could complete what she'd started.
"But it's not the money this time." He repeated to emphasize his point. "Nikolai has also promised to shield me from the Visitant in exchange for her."
"Good one. Give me more." Liam laughed.
"This isn't a joke, Authier." Luca stressed. "The Visitant is suddenly withdrawing his help to me. I don't know why he's doing so but he now wants my downfall."
Was he shitting us? He really wanted us to believe him?
"He?" Rafael raised a brow.
Luca gulped, training his eyes here and there. "That's my guess from the amount of work we've done together. I think it's a man."
"So you're offering me your support, I'm sorry, partial support in return of me extending you help to find the Visitant and hand over Miss Tanner. Is that right?"
"Absolutely." He affirmed. "She's here, isn't she?" His repulsive hazel eyes moved across thee area in search for Allegra.
I was three microseconds away from prising those eyes out.
"Our alliance with Tanner was limited to finding Camila. I have no idea where she is now. You may leave." Rafael declared.
"Think about it again, Rafael. I've worked closely with the Visitant. I can help you find him."
