Chapter seven; 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

"How are you feeling?" Tomioka asked the younger ravenette who had paid no attention whatsoever to anything he said or did. "Good." He replied, the older raven had sighed. Clearly, he was not listening whatsoever.

"I mean it, how are you feeling?" "Good." Nico answered Giyuu once again, resulting in a sigh earned from him. 'What a stubborn child,' He thought, frowning to himself.

"You really are hopeless, you know?" "Mhm." Nico replied for a second time, looking out the window with disinterest. The two had been seated at the wooden supper table.

"...I'll be back, stay here, alright?" "Mhm." "If you hear something just run to me, okay?" For a second, there was no answer. Then, Nico spoke again, "...Mhm."

He raised his head, squinting his eyes a bit as he gazed out the window. He seemed to be observing something, and yet — he showed a hint of concern.

Giyuu raised an eyebrow of bewilderment. He was curious what the smaller, black-haired boy was so drawn to, and what he was looking at. "Nico?" He called out his name, hoping for a response.

"...Mhm?" Giyuu gave a sigh as response. He really was done with Nico's bullshit, his stupid "mhm" 's.

"You-... weren't listening at all, were you?" He questioned, putting a hand to Nico's shoulder. Though, instead of a yes or no, he got quite an unexpected answer.

"....Is that-... Iguro?"

Iguro couldn't help but flinch at the contact of the Ghoulish monster teasingly grabbing him by the shoulder gruffly. Every time, he would turn around to see nothing; just as he expected.

"Damn it, I'm going to die." He grit his teeth, sighing heavily as an attempt to cool himself down and accept "fate".

The Ghoul, then leaped onto the exhausted as hell black-haired man. Obanai Iguro closed his eyes, with a pained smile as his last thoughts were of Kanroji Mitsuri. Maybe, she would find someone better than him someday.

It then snapped Obanai's neck, killing him in front of Giyuu and Nico. The being then disappeared.

"Ooh, that was personal. He didn't even wanna live, that's deep." Nico walked over to the dead body, his hands in his pockets. He seemed relaxed, as he spoke with a joking tone.

"Nico!" Giyuu glared. "What?" Giyuu sighed tiredly as he went to check the body. His eyes widened.

"Wait.... Iguro-kun was alone.. How did the Ghoul.." That so thought, made Giyuu's heart thump. What way was there to stay safe at this point?
