The gang was woken up by a loud bang, followed by multiple screams. Immediately they sat upright in their bed and looked around for the source of the noise. But everything was calm in their rooms. Concerned for their friends, they got dressed and went to each other's room to look for each other. Once they were sure they were all safe they slowly made their way down to see what was going on inside. But they were stopped by Madam Rosmerta.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked them. "Are you trying to get killed?"

Pacifica shook her head. "No. But we just want to know what's going on."

"I'll tell you what's going on. Some crazy young witch is going around Hogsmeade looking for Merlin. Can you believe that?"

Everyone in the group's eyes went wide. Mabel was here.

"What have the people told her?" Kathy asked.

Rosmerta gave her a look. "Well, we've been trying to tell her that Merlin's been dead for hundreds of years but she's not listening. She kills anyone who comes near her and she's burning the town down. We're trying to escape her but it's been hard work." She motioned to the people behind her.

They hadn't even realized that they were there. There weren't a lot of people but whether that was because Mabel killed the majority of the Hogsmeade population or because the majority had escaped was unclear. All they knew was they had to do something. This battle was between them and Mabel. They couldn't let any more people die.

"How are you getting the people out of here?" Dipper asked.

"Mostly we've been trying to disapparate people out here but it takes a long time," Rosmerta said. "We've been trying to use Portkeys but with everything going on, the people are shaken up so the spells aren't going so well."

Dipper nodded and looked at his friends. "I think some of us should stay here. Make sure that these people get out of here."

"Great idea. I'll stay here." Pacifica said. "I'm not exactly too fond of the idea of fighting Mabel. Besides, I think Kathy should go fight Mabel. She is one of the strongest witches here."

"I'll stay with Pacifica. We'll need all the wands we have to get these people out of here." Dipper added.

"I'm fine with that. I've been looking forward to kicking Mabel's ass for a while now." Kathy said with her arms crossed. "I'm in. I'll fight Mabel."

"I'll come with you," Linus said. "If Mabel wants me, she can have me. Besides, you're going to need all the help you can get. Mabel's in a bad place right now. Her magic is going to be all over the place and you won't be able to handle it alone."

Kathy nodded. "Good idea." She turned to her friends. "Anyone else feels like taking on Mabel?"

Gideon thought about it for a moment and sighed. "Sure I guess I'll come. Three wizards are better than two."

Linus smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that." He put a hand on Gideon's shoulder. "We need you out there Gideon. If all else fails, you're our last hope."

"What are you talking about?" Gideon gave Linus a weird look. "You've been telling me I'm a powerful wizard, but what does that even mean? What are you hiding?"

Linus looked unsure. "I don't think this is the right time to tell you."

"Just tell me!"

Linus sighed. He knew Gideon wasn't going to let this go.

"Okay," Linus said. "The truth is-"

Before he could finish that sentence a big explosion interrupted him.
