Short A/N

This chapter does affect the story although not in a major way, it would be worthwhile to read this chapter. I would also like to point out this story is fictional, even if it is based upon real people there is no way I can say what they would do in any given situation and as such you shouldn't form an opinion upon this person based upon actions in this book or how I make them seem... RJ...

RJ's POV

"Hey Kat, would you like to come over after school tonight, there's something I found the other night that looks kinda cool!" I said to Kat, a bit too loudly, I hope no one else heard me, "uhh sure, let me ask my mum" replied Kat while she took out her phone and started to text her mum, "Awesome!" "Hey guys." I hear Folvos say Chay replies with "Hello" as Kat and I hurriedly walked over to him and hug him. "How are you?" He asks inquisitively, Chay and Kat reply with "Good" as I say "Great!" with enthusiasm. The conversation continues on like this until after Flynn and Hails appear and Folvos goes off to find his other two friends. In all honesty I just can't wait to take Kat and show her what I found, it just looked so foreign, maybe it was someone's object and they lost it. Man, I get too caught up in my own head at times, I wasn't even paying attention to my responses, just "going" on auto pilot I guess, anyways back to the real world. I guess recess had gone bye because I was at my locker and I was grabbing out a few books. "Did the bell go?" I ask Kat, whose locker was right next to mine, "Yeah, just a minute ago, didn't you hear it?" Asked Kat giving me a weird look, "No, I just wasn't paying attention." I replied, "Obviously" Kat said in a joke mocking tone. "Sorry, what, I wasn't listening" I said to Kat in a sarcastic voice to try to annoy her a little before we headed off for class.

Oh my god, that class was so boring I just couldn't wait to show Kat that thing I found. I still have no clue what it is so I hope Kat may be able to help me find out what it's used for. It'll be so exciting to finally see, it was so weird, it had a metallic look to it but I think some parts were floating almost defying gravity with certain orange glowing parts in it, looking like a power source. (Shout out to my favourite game ever let me know if you get the reference.) I guess I better pay attention, don't want to fail year 8 do I?

Finally, schools over, where's Kat? Oh... should probably go grab my stuff from my locker first, right, what homework did I have? I think I had Eigo, some Nihongi... "SEKAI TO RJ" Folvos all but says in my face while waving a paw in front of me, "DO YOU READ ME?" "I CAN'T SEE THE WORDS!" I reply to him loudly but just jokingly, "they should be on the monitor to the left RJ" Folvos exclaims trying not to laugh, "But that's my rainbow monitor, can't you change the monitor you're using, you wouldn't like me when I'm rainbowless." I say, we manage to keep a straight face for a few seconds then both burst out laughing after we've stopped I tell him I have to go grab my stuff and that I need to go home soon-ish today. I rush off and pack my bag and get back when I realise I'm missing one thing, Kat, I can't see her anywhere. I walk up to Folvos, Chay, Hails, Flynn and Rose, "Have any of you seen Kat, she was coming over to my house today, there was something I wanted to show her." I ask curiously. "RJ, it's all natural, believe me, its normal." Folvos jokingly says laughing a bit before being slapped on the shoulder by me. Everyone else tries to bite their cheek or do various other things to stop themselves from laughing but I don't act on it. "In all seriousness though no, I haven't seen her around." Folvos says rubbing his shoulder a little. Hurry up Kat, it's really bugging me! "Is that her over there?" asks Flynn as he point over at a certain approaching leopard. "KAT!" I say and run at her kind of startling her. "Someone's in a rush to show off," I hear Folvos say not particularly paying attention but the glare I give him makes him change his mind about continuing, "and on that joke I'll be heading off before RJ decides she will kill me on sight, cya all!" Cya, talk to you later and a few other remarks are heard as he heads off. "Kat you got everything?" I ask her curiously, her bag looks a bit smaller than normal. "Yes, I double checked, seems a bit light though." She replied with a sigh at the end. "Then let's go!" I say grabbing her hand and dragging her off, "Good bye everyone, talk to you all at some point maybe, possibly." Kat kind of giving a startled yelp as I pull her along and start walking away, I swear I hear Folvos say something as I walk off about showing off, I'll just hit him later.

"RJ, I don't see it, were you sure you saw something and didn't just imagine it? Could you describe it again, I've forgotten what it looked like again." Kat asks again sounding a bit impatient "Look, I think we should go back home, I can almost see the moon over the trees and its even starting to get a bit hard for me to see now." "Yes I saw it, I'm not imagining it if that's what you're implying, and it was around here. It looked metallic with a few floating parts, like they were defying gravity, there were also some glowing orange beams painted onto the side, it was about the size of a soccer ball and also had some weird blue disk set into one part of it." I say to her starting to get hopefully as I peered around some bushes only to be disappointed when I discovered a small crater with a few snapped twigs and a little bit of crushed leaves. "It's about this size" I say pointing to the crater as I turn around to Kat only to be confused by what I see. She's standing there as if she's seen a ghost, her tail very low to the ground and a shocked expression on her face as she's looking at something weird. She slowly lifts her hand and points to something floating just above my head. "What?" I ask genuinely confused and then I realise what it might be.

I slowly look up and surly enough my guess is right. Floating just above me is a metal sphere with some dents and pieces missing, not like broken off but looking like it was made like that, I move away slowly and it floats gently to head height, it turns to face me and I see its once orange lines now glowing a brilliant blue, just like the smaller indent that I assume to be its eye. "Kat, what do you think it's doing?" I ask her quietly not taking my eyes off of it. "I don't know, don't look away, I don't know what it will do, should we try to talk to it, does it have a name?" she asks a bit curiously "Mihi nomen est, reus scintilla CCCXLIII" says the strange object floating a little closer to my face now. "I don't understand, do you have a name?" I ask knowing full well I could be insulting it and causing it to just get pissed off but my curiosity gets the better of me. "My name is 343 Guilty spark." (Still the best video game ever.) Shaking my head I realise it just spoke, "How do you speak Eigo?" I ask it, looking around it curiously, my fox instincts getting the better of me. "It was not hard to break down your language, your language is still quite primitive compared to some of the more technical language I know and am capable of understanding." It replied sounding a little insulted. "Oh... you aren't going to hurt us are you?" I ask suddenly feeling scared for my life.

"No, my masters did not allow me to have that function. However, I do need to return to Installation 0-1 thank you for finding me earlier, if it hadn't been for you moving my sensors then I'd never have been jump started again. Wait a second, a portal just opened up not far from here, I'm sorry but I need to just there and check out this, a culture of your technological advancements shouldn't have access to portals or any such devices yet. Thank you and goodbye." I hear a small whirring sound and I see that Kat had slowly made her way over and was looking at this '343 guilty spark' with curiosity as well. I look at 343 and then see a small black pinpoint open behind him and expand taking him into it before my vision goes completely black and I start to feel weightless.
