"Seriously, I have the worst attitude? What about Dex then?"
Kicking a few crates and boxes filled with fruits, toppling all of them over in the action, Dew stuffed her hands in her pocket before sitting on one of the toppled crates and pouted.
"Hey, do you think you can maybe stop the tantrum and help out with the business in our shop? Oh, pick up those fruits and re-stock them please."
Groaning that her childish tantrum did not get her anywhere, Dew took her hands out of her pockets and slowly bent down to pick up the fruits one by one, putting them on the racks and tables for display.
Shops of all different species stood on either side of the street obediently. None of them had doors because the shopkeepers knew very well that the doors would not last long against the might, impatience, and violence of the customers. Herds of people climbed on top of each other at the counter of each shop yelling wildly like mindless monkeys brawling for a banana.
Large tattered wagons decorated with a collage of vegetables were parked beside the street and their wonders stood beside them screaming prices like auctioneers, but instead of a hammer, they had a carrot which they would use to wade off the flies pointlessly dancing around the vegetables.
"Five apples? Of course, please wait a moment. Ah yes, what would you like?"
Dew stared at her sister, who was calmly serving the customers, with beads of sweat trickling down the side of her head profusely. Dune was always kind and helpful, no matter what happened. She never gets impatient or angry.
Except that one time where her ex-boyfriend cheated on her. She flew into a rampage that nobody could stop in Khohlo. Goddamn, words that Dew didn't know existed flew out of her mouth.
Just then, Dew noticed a helpless woman fumbling through the scores of bags she carried, trying to tick on a list with a pen clenched between her teeth. Based on natural instinct, Dew immediately stopped re-stocking the fruits and ran towards the woman. Grabbing most of the bags that the woman was unable to carry herself, let alone walk with them, she gave a tiny reassuring smile while the woman stared at her for a while in admiration.
