First Fight
Liam
"Awe look at the little nerd. Helping his girlfriend with her homework." Derek sneered as he and his cronies walked past you in the library.
"Poor little nerd dating that dumb ditz. No smart girl would want to date him." One of Derek's friends snickered.
"Ignore them." You whispered in Liam's ear and gently kissed the sweet spot just below it.
"Awe isn't that cute." Another one sickenly cooed.
Liam's hand clenched on the pen nearly breaking it in his strong grip. You placed yours over his as a sign of comfort. "They'll go away."
"Let's get out of here." He grumbled starting to pack up.
"No. I need to study. Just ignore them. They'll get bored and leave." You looked up from your notes, pausing what you were about to scribble down.
"(Y/N), let's go. Now." You didn't like the demanding tone Liam was using. You were the kind of person that didn't deal well with others telling you what to do. You were independent and very willful. Spirited was what Liam would affectionately say about you.
You grumbled and stood up as Liam quickly shoved everything messily into a bag. You winced as you saw him carelessly crumble your notes.
Once out of the library you turned to Liam and glared at him. "Are you okay?" You asked trying to tamp down the anger so that you could focus on seeing if Liam was okay as you got into his car.
"Just be quiet. I'm trying to think." He hissed. You were shocked that Liam would talk to you like that and it was because of that shock that you were rendered speechless. "God damn it." He growled as he slammed his hand against the steering wheel. "I'm so fucking tired of Derek."
"I'm sorry," Was all you could say.
"You should be!" His accusing eyes caught your own for a split second.
Anger reared its ugly head inside you. "What are you trying to say?"
"You dated him!"
"What has that to do with anything?!"
"It has to do with everything."
You were so confused and getting angrier and angrier by the second.
"I didn't do anything to make him act like that Liam!"
"You dated him! You're just like him!"
You blinked. "I dated him for only a month. That can barely even be called dating. And I broke up with him as soon as I noticed him bullying people. When I noticed him bullying you!" You couldn't believe the way Liam was just attacking you with his words. This wasn't the Liam you knew.
"I'm not in the mood to talk about this" He simply said as he pulled out of the parking lot.
"Well I'm not in the mood to be bossed around."
"Just shut up for a minute. God do you ever stop complaining?"
Your jaw dropped. You couldn't believe he had just said that to you. Your easy going afternoon with Liam was turned tense and strained. "What did you just say to me?"
"I said 'shut up'. What are you deaf now as well as annoying?"
You felt tears prick in your eyes but you willed them away. You were stronger than that.
"You know what Liam? Why don't you go find yourself a mute girlfriend? Because this one isn't going to put up with you treating her like this." At that perfect moment Liam pulled up in your driveway. "Later."
