You Get Close /You Have a Moment
Liam
"Okay Liam what do we need know?" You asked as you walked around the shopping center. It was the weekend and you and Liam where shopping for supplies for the dance together.
Liam looked down at the list and furrowed his brow. "We still need streamers."
"Okay!" You hitched the bags of supplies up your arm to make it easier to carry. They were heavy and you having trouble with them.
"Here, let me." Liam said smoothly as he ran his hand up your arm making goose bumps spread across you skin. He took the bags from you, relieving you of the heavy bags. You sighed as the tightness in your shoulders eased from the lack of bags weighing you down.
"Ready?" You asked once Liam had the heavy bags settled and you were carrying the much lighter ones.
Together you left the store hopping that the next would carry the kind of streamers that you wanted. You were looking for very specific color. You wanted a deep red that was hard to find and a very light nearly grey blue. They were hard colors to find and being a stubborn as you were, you would not give up until you found them.
"So have you found a dress yet?" Liam asked breaking the silence as you walked out to the car.
"Not quiet. I don't even know what color to get yet. Or a date." You mumbled the last under your breath. A little upset that no one had asked you yet. You were a beautiful young girl and had never been lacking in admirers but for some reason this year no one had asked you yet. And the dance was coming very soon. You were running out of time.
"What was that?" Liam asked picking up on the mumbled statement about not having a date. "No one's asked you yet?" His eye brows went up as if he was surprised but at the same time a bit happy about it.
"Not yet." You grumbled as you reached the car and unlocked it.
"I'm sure you'll find one." Liam assured you as you got into the car.
"I'm thinking of not even going. I don't even have a dress yet." You bit your lip and looked out the window.
Liam drove down the road for a few minutes. Watching the road thoughtfully. "Let's go dress shopping." Liam offered as you lifted your drink up a water bottle from your purse to your lips.
"What?" You sputtered chocking on the water.
"Let's get you a dress. One of my sisters recently got a job at this dress shop."
"You Liam, you don't have to do that." You said as he turned into the parking lot of a small cute dress shop.
"Nonsense. Let's go." He parked and went around to your side of the car and let you out. "I'll be fun."
He led you into the shop and immediately you were greeted by Liam's sister. "Hello love!" She laced her arm into yours and pulled you into a dressing you. You hadn't even had a moment to say what you wanted or what your size was before Liam was handing dresses to his sister and she was tossing them on to your body.
Dress after dress was tried on as she would push you out of the dressing room for Liam to judge. He would just shake his head and wave his hand for you to go back in.
After a while Liam got up and looked at the dresses again. He grabbed the most dramatic looking one and slipped it through the curtain at you. You slipped it right back at him. Only taking in the scarlet red of the dress.
